As a Principal Software Engineer, you will work on DataRobot’s machine learning platform and actively contribute to strategy, planning and development of our Generative AI and Deep Learning products. Together with our engineering teams, you will help our customers leverage Generative AI to achieve real impact.

We are looking for talented people with excellent engineering skills and knowledge of machine learning who can analyze problems, design unprecedented solutions, and implement them for real-world use on top of our platform. Our engineers are also depended upon to lift up everyone around them and contribute to the excellence of every engineer in the organization. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate products for end-users powered by machine learning and Generative AI

  • Write maintainable, testable, production-grade Python code

  • Co-own Generative AI platform at DataRobot, proactively propose and implement improvements involving multiple departments

  • Scale GenerativeAI platform to enable new use-cases for our customers 

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, influencing and guiding their work when needed

  • Research and propose new technologies

  • Collaborate with multiple teams and departments within R&D, contributing to the entire platform

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 10+ years of professional software development

  • Experience working in a multi-cloud environment, building containerized applications

  • Experience building Generative AI applications in production

  • Experience building and operating applications in Kubernetes

  • Experience building applications for various business domains

  • Strong Python ecosystem knowledge

  • Ability to plan and lead projects from start to completion, explain your design decisions

  • Strong communication skills, sense of ownership and the ability to collaborate across teams and departments

  • Proactiveness in identifying and solving the most complex problems  

  • Track record of improving software systems that are critical to the business

  • Ability to anticipate implementation issues based on technical designs and offer suggestions

  • Ability to stay on top of recent developments in Generative AI, effectively integrating them with existing platform

  • Ability to plan several quarters ahead and build clear technical vision together with other stakeholders
