Why You’ll Love This Role
The Principal Systems Software & Security Architect defines and drives the system-level software and security architecture for advanced optical transport platforms, including OCS and MEMS-based systems.
This role serves as the domain authority for software and security, complementing system architects by ensuring cohesive integration of embedded software, firmware, and cybersecurity into overall system design. The position influences cross-platform architecture, long-term technology strategy, and customer-facing technical decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Architecture Leadership: Define and own system-level software architecture, including embedded Linux environments, control interfaces, APIs, and data flows.
- Security Ownership: Establish end-to-end platform security architecture (secure boot, encryption, authentication, key management, root of trust).
- Cross-Platform Strategy: Drive scalable, reusable software and security frameworks across multiple product generations.
- Technical Governance: Act as design authority in architecture reviews; establish standards, best practices, and technical guidelines.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Partner with hardware, firmware, systems, and product teams to ensure cohesive system integration.
- Customer Engagement: Interface with strategic customers on software architecture and security requirements; support audits and technical reviews.
- Supplier Oversight: Evaluate and influence third-party components and vendors for software compatibility and security compliance.
- Problem Solving: Lead resolution of complex system-level issues and guide root cause analysis for critical failures.
What We’re Looking For
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
- 8+ years of experience in embedded systems, system software, or platform architecture
- Proven experience defining system-level architectures across multiple products
- Deep expertise in Linux-based embedded systems and hardware/software integration
- Strong background in security (secure boot, encryption, authentication, key management)
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive architectural decisions
Skills:
- Experience in optical transport, telecom, or data center systems
- Knowledge of industry security standards (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443, ISO 27001)
- Experience with Tier 1 or hyperscale customer engagements.
Perks You’ll Love
- Flexible time off
- Health and wellness benefits (physical and mental)
- Tuition reimbursement and career growth support
- A workplace built for you: free gym, games room, prayer room
- Subsidized meals, free coffee/tea
