About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Product Compliance, the Product Compliance Manager is a critical role responsible for optimizing the compliance framework for Remitly's core products, including store of value features. You will provide strategic guidance on new products and establish compliance programs that enable business growth while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory requirements. You will navigate complex regulatory landscapes and serve as a cross-functional leader at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Legal.

This is a hybrid opportunity, requiring 3+ days a week out of our Vancouver (Metrotown) office.

You Will

  • Design & Integrate: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design and integrate automated compliance controls into product development and operations.
  • Manage Partnerships: Build and manage productive relationships with compliance teams at partner banks and external vendors.
  • Program Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance programs for lending, payments, and wallet products.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Monitor compliance with federal, state, and international regulations, including AML, KYC, and consumer protection laws.
  • Risk Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate compliance risks for nascent and existing products.
  • Stakeholder Training: Stay current on regulatory changes and provide timely updates and training to relevant business stakeholders.
  • Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and lead support for regulatory examinations and audits.

You Have

  • Experience: 5+ years of product compliance experience in fintech or financial services, with a specific focus on lending and stored-value products.
  • Autonomy: Proven ability to deliver independently in ambiguous situations, moving from high-level strategy to detailed execution.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of U.S. and international regulatory requirements (AML, KYC, KYB) and how they intersect with software systems.
  • Problem Solving: Expertise in deconstructing complex regulatory issues into practical, scalable engineering requirements.
  • Communication: Proficiency in conveying technical compliance concepts to non-technical stakeholders and building consensus across leadership.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field; CAMS or CRCM certification is preferred.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $108,000-135,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
