Viral Nation is looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Product Owner to join our product team. This role is crucial for managing the flow of work for our engineering teams, ensuring features meet quality standards, and facilitating the successful execution of our product roadmap.

VN is developing products that provide deep insight into creator safety and suitability for brand partnerships. A Product Owner with deep experience in agile environments, backlog grooming, bug triage, and release coordination will be a significant asset. This individual will act as the key liaison between Product Management and the development team, translating strategic goals into actionable user stories and ensuring a smooth, efficient delivery pipeline.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Translate product roadmap items and strategic requirements from Product Management into clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Own and manage the team's development backlog; prioritize user stories, features, and bugs to ensure the engineering team is always working on the highest-value items aligned with roadmap priorities.
  • Lead the bug triage process: efficiently reproduce reported issues, assess priority based on severity and user impact, and assign them for resolution.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure the smooth, predictable flow of work.
  • Partner closely with the QA team, or conduct initial validation, to ensure that developed features meet all acceptance criteria and quality standards before release.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the development team, answering questions, clarifying requirements, and removing blockers to facilitate execution.
  • Develop a deep functional understanding of our products to effectively manage dependencies, identify optimization opportunities, and communicate technical trade-offs.
  • Work in close partnership with Product Managers, Engineering, DevOps, AI, and business operations to ensure product roadmap items are clearly defined, managed, and executed efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the broader product team, providing tactical feedback from the development process to help refine the product roadmap and future requirements.
  • Be comfortable in a highly dynamic, agile environment without sacrificing the quality of work products.

You'll Need To Have:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Product Owner, Technical Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or a similar role in a progressive, technology-oriented company.
  • Expert-level knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and the software development lifecycle.
  • Expertise in Jira is required for managing backlogs, tracking sprints, writing user stories, and reporting on team velocity and progress.
  • Proven experience in bug triage, prioritization, and working closely with QA teams to define and execute test plans.
  • Good knowledge of the following areas: UI/UX design principles, web application usability, and functionality best practices.
  • A strong technical background or experience with cloud services and modern development environments (e.g., AWS, React.js/Node.js) is a significant asset.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and AI concepts is an asset.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Viral Nation is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in our agency. Viral Nation welcomes applications from people with visible and non-visible disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the recruiting and selection process.
