Job Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY:
Leads the work team to ensure quality products are produced which meet the customer requirements. Ensures that standardized work is in place and followed. Serves as a facilitator to the work team in areas of problem solving, issue resolution and continuous improvement and training. Ensures that a safe and organized work environment is maintained at all times. Accessible to the production floor 95% of the time. Must be able to perform positions/tasks required to support the team. Accountable for results in area of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Achieving daily attainment requirements. Maintaining and updating training matrices. Recording downtime, scrap, and determining team efficiency. Understanding and administration of Supervisor appropriate HR policies. Coach and counsel employees through performance concerns. Independently administer corrective action through written level. Approve all vacation and appointment time requests. Document and deliver employee performance appraisals as issued. Determine allocation of overtime, submit requests for OT approval. Assign employees to work cells/machines daily. Ensures cross training is occurring in their area of responsibility. Maintain 5S checklist and ensure 5S performance Perform LPA's. Maintain kanban cards, make replacements, and enforce their use. Perform pre-shift meetings. Complete their portion of incident/accident reports. Understand your responsibility for the environmental, health & safety programs, including ISO14001. Understand the importance of conformance with all safety and environmental procedures of the environmental and safety management systems, including emergency response. Understand the EMS consequences, actual or potential, of their work activities and/or their behaviors from specified work instructions. Perform all duties assigned by the Manager.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY:
Demonstrates EHS leadership by setting a good example Trains and instructs employees so they can perform their work safely. Instructs employees on what personal protective equipment is needed Ensure associates are trained in the safe use of equipment, material, and chemicals they will be using. Enforces safe work practices and procedures and encourages workers to identify unsafe or unhealthy workplace conditions or hazards without fear of discipline Takes immediate steps to correct unsafe or unhealthy workplace hazards and ensure corrective measures are completed in a timely manner Ensures employees are aware and follow all safety rules Makes sure employee concerns related to EHS are addressed and contacts the EHS Department if assistance is needed Ensures employees report accidents and injuries immediately Is involved in the accident/incident investigation program and provides corrective actions in a timely manner Ensures and promotes continual improvement and safety performance through key performance indicators. Ensures that Supervisor is involved and working with the employee in the RTW program

Must have the ability and willingness to continue personal development activities/assignments. Ability to use measuring and gauging devices with an understanding of SPC. Must have basic computer skills Must support safety policies and practices that apply to assigned areas. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with people. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop others to achieve daily goals. Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal). Must be self-motivated and have the ability to interpret data for corrective actions. Demonstrated positive performance record, strong dependability with a proven attendance record. Ability to obtain lift truck license. Demonstrated positive performance record. Individuals in Corrective Action steps may be ineligible. Successful completion of the Team Facilitator Promotion Training may be required after positions are filled.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred 3-5 years supervisory experience in high volume production, preferably assembly, is recommended.
