The Program Manager is an early-career, client-facing role on the PGA Monitoring Team, responsible for delivering high-quality parliamentary and policy monitoring alongside supporting client management and project coordination. Building on the role, this position adds ownership of workflows, direct client interaction, and coordination of deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Parliamentary & Policy Monitoring
 

  • Monitor daily activity across Parliament, including House proceedings, committees, and Senate activity

  • Track and synthesize government announcements, legislation, and regulatory developments

  • Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of monitoring reports, alerts, and summaries

  • Identify and escalate emerging issues, policy shifts, and political developments of relevance

  • Ensure quality control and consistency across monitoring outputs
     

Client Management & Project Support
 

  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for select client needs

  • Help client leads organize and support client meetings, including scheduling, agenda development, and logistics

  • Attend client calls and meetings; take clear, accurate notes and track follow-ups

  • Draft client-ready summaries of monitoring outputs, discussions, and key takeaways

  • Respond to routine client requests in a timely and professional manner

  • Track tasks and ensure deadlines are met across ongoing monitoring and ad hoc projects

  • Maintain organized trackers and documentation for client workstreams

  • Support senior team members in managing account priorities and resourcing
     

Research & Insights
 

  • Conduct research on policy issues, government stakeholders, and political dynamics

  • Develop background briefs, stakeholder profiles, and issue summaries

  • Translate complex political and policy developments into clear, actionable insights for clients
     

Skills & Qualifications
 

  • Strong understanding of Canadian politics, public policy, and parliamentary processes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, client-ready materials

  • Experience managing multiple workstreams and deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint)

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and previous public affairs experience is an asset
