The Squarespace Finance team is seeking a strategic and collaborative Project Manager to drive the execution of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives across our team. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Financial Systems, and Product. You will lead projects that require a deep understanding of finance processes, systems, and stakeholder needs, while ensuring accountability through clear tracking of project performance, progress, and key success metrics.

As a trusted expert in project delivery, you will lead initiatives that span multiple teams and systems, working closely with our Senior Manager of Program Management to shape how Finance operates and delivers value. You'll collaborate across departments, manage ambiguity with confidence, and influence others to bring clarity and forward momentum. Success in this role requires strong stakeholder management, the ability to lead without direct authority, and the skill to drive alignment across competing priorities.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Senior Manager of Program Management.

You'll Get To…

  • Own and lead the end-to-end delivery of high-visibility Finance initiatives, including system implementations, process improvements, and company-wide programs impacting Finance teams (e.g., Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Controls).
  • Develop and manage structured project plans with clear milestones, resource needs, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Align project work with departmental goals and company strategy, anticipating downstream impacts and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Partner with Finance functional leads to define and document business requirements for product and organizational initiatives, ensuring Finance considerations are implemented and validated.
  • Collaborate with business partners across Engineering and Data teams to translate business needs into actionable technical work, prioritize high-value items, and propose path-forward decisions.
  • Deliver clear, frequent, and targeted communication to stakeholders at all levels, from operational contributors to executive leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery methodologies and drive the adoption of best practices within Finance, including change management, stakeholder training, and ensuring adoption of new processes and systems.

Who We're Looking For

  • 6 - 7+ years of experience in Project management, Finance, Financial Systems, or a combination of these areas.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience delivering cross-functional projects that touch finance systems and data (e.g., ERP, planning tools, revenue systems, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive alignment, decision-making, and execution in highly cross-functional, ambiguous environments without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders, balancing competing priorities to drive alignment and execution.
  • PMP, CAPM, or other formal project management certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to craft clear, concise messaging tailored to executive leadership, technical teams, and finance stakeholders.
  • Experience in a tech company or high-growth environment is a plus.

Benefits & Perks

  • A choice between medical plans with an option for 100% covered premiums
  • Fertility and adoption benefits
  • Access to supplemental insurance plans for additional coverage
