The Global Marketing Innovation function works on large strategic projects with the objective of driving innovation synergy and scale across the different McCain business units around the world.
The Global Marketing function is part of McCain's Global Growth & Strategy group and is led by the Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer. This role is being hired to support two large global strategic innovation initiatives that are expected to drive a meaningful impact to the organization and sizeable volume for the business units around the world. Please note: This is a 12- Month contract, working directly for McCain Foods.
The Project Manager, Global Innovation Strategic Initiatives will be a key member of these two large scalable projects. They will be responsible for the projects management tasks and supporting the execution across markets. The role will be accountable for structuring workstreams, building project plans, monitoring progress, tracking metrics/KPIs, communicating project status to key stakeholders, proactively mitigating or managing risks, and ensuring project deliverables are delivered on time with a high level of quality. This role will interface with both Global and Regional Leadership Teams and will be responsible for providing regular progress updates on key initiatives supporting the Global strategic initiatives.
The candidate will have a record of having managed complex programs, demonstrating an ability to manage cross functional stakeholders, have strong communication skills and a solid understanding of product development processes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, maintain, and communicate progress across the two global innovation strategic initiatives
  • Structuring workstreams and building project plans to achieve project objectives.
  • Milestone mapping inclusive of looking at different routes to market for different regions
  • Oversight of programs, with multi-year platforms and workstreams
  • Cross-functional leadership, monitoring progress and tracking key metrics to hold the team accountable to their deliverables and ensuring they are delivered with a high level of quality.
  • Proactively managing/mitigating risk throughout the project
  • Provide regular status updates to program sponsors and project Team
  • Ensure program meetings have clearly defined agendas, objectives, and outputs
  • Prepare content for presentations for various audiences
  • Create dashboards to communicate progress towards program goals and KPIs


MEASURES OF SUCCESS:

  • Project Management Skills: identification and management of stakeholders, milestone development and progress tracking, risk mitigation, detailed action planning, and change management
  • Knowledge of project management practices and tools; PMP certification is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate program status, including escalations and risks, to various audiences
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to Senior Leadership in a concise, effective, and professional manner
  • Ability to influence others without direct authority over them
  • Proven capability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships across global and regional functions; highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to "think big and plan ahead" and anticipate issues before they arise
  • Great organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills to proactively address and mitigate issues
  • Ability and comfort in dealing with ambiguity
  • A high sense of urgency and professionalism when taking on new opportunities with the ability to make recommendations
  • Strong process knowledge, detail oriented with an ability to simplify


KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Practical experience in food innovation is a MUST
  • Strong organizational skills combined with experience in program management and tracking is required.
  • Global experience working across regions and functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability for high collaboration and influence
  • Capability and new capital process leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Travel: may be required
  • Job is primarily performed in a hybrid environment with 2-3 days per week in an office setting
