We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Ottawa, ON and help run our expanding operations. Someone comfortable leading in a high growth environment, who loves client-facing roles and has the soft skills to guide an internal team as well as our clients. Key Responsibilities
- Guiding clients through their certification by teaching them the process, managing their deliverables and expectations, and ensuring clients are kept informed with frequent, contextual communication
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
- Analyze, implement, and continually improve organizational processes and project delivery work to ensure great product certification outcomes for our growing list of clients
- Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures
- Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and where the best idea wins
- Work with senior management team
- Ensure delivery of projects are on time and within budget
- Demonstrate and promote Lightship Core Values within the organization
The Ideal Candidate
To excel at Lightship, you have a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively on teams and are also an energetic self-starter with the self-motivation to work independently. You have excellent oral and written communication skills, and can count time management, problem solving, and managing multiple priorities as your strengths.
What You Bring
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field
- 3-5 years of project management experience in a service-based organization
Skills & Competencies
- Strong familiarity with project management methodologies and tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and resourcefulness
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on time and within budget
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in an environment that requires flexibility, adaptability, and initiative
Bonus skillset (Preferred but not required)
- Experience with ClickUp (or similar project management software)
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Knowledge of FIPS 140-2, FIPS 140-3, Common Criteria, or related cybersecurity standards

Interview Selection Process
- Interview with Recruiter: Initial screening to learn about your background and experience.
- Interview with Project Manager: In-depth discussion on project management experience and role expectations.
- Skillset Assessment: Practical evaluation of project management capabilities and demonstrated in Lightship selected project management tool.
- Final Interview with Team and Management: Meet with key stakeholders to assess team fit and alignment with company values.
