Job Description

The House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property (DSRP) is currently looking to staff the Project Manager position.

This position requires on-site presence five (5) days per week.

As a Project Manage in Real Property Services, you will oversee multiple construction and renovation sub-projects and other internal initiatives, ensuring successful delivery from planning through to close-out and occupancy. Working with a team of subject matter experts you will establish project requirements, manage risks, develop project documentation and reporting materials, and ensure alignment with governance frameworks, project management practices, and strategic objectives supporting the Long-Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) for the Parliamentary Precinct. You will lead a cross-functional team of experts and coordinate project activities to support the delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact and representative for the House of Commons with internal stakeholders, external partners, contractors, and consultants. You will oversee project implementation activities, including monitoring contractor work, conducting on-site inspections, supporting change control processes, resolving issues, and ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with schedules, budgets, specifications, quality standards, and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

Education :

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary degree in a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training and related experience.

Experiences :

  • Minimum 4 years experience leading construction projects, from requirements gathering to implementation, including issue management, stakeholder management and reporting;
  • Experience working with subject matter experts in the field of architecture, engineering, security and construction;
  • Experience coordinating and facilitating project deliverables across multiple disciplines and stakeholders;
  • Experience managing and coordinating several medium to large sized, multi-year construction projects within a program;
  • Experience managing project budgets, procurement, contracts, and tendering processes for construction or renovation projects;
  • Experience applying project management practices, including governance, risk, quality, and change management;
  • Experience working within public sector, government, or other highly regulated environments with multiple stakeholders and approval processes.

Assets :

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification;
  • A registration and good standing membership as an architect or interior designer with a Canadian Professional association;
  • Experience in leading projects and/or working with public sector clients.
