Job Description

Job Summary

A Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for executing quality assurance activities, with a strong emphasis on business analysis to support overall product excellence. This includes developing and maintaining test cases and scripts, performing various types of testing appropriate to the phase of the project or iteration, and ensuring the quality of our systems. In addition, the role involves gathering and analyzing business requirements, preparing mockups, and recommending optimal solutions to meet stakeholder needs. This is a one-year fixed term contract position and a hybrid role, with 1–2 days per week expected in-person at 200 Bay Street in Toronto.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain test cases and scripts aligned with evolving systems.
  • Perform various types of testing appropriate to the project phase or iteration.
  • Record and organize test results consistently and clearly.
  • Report bugs and errors to the development team.
  • Manage testing feedback from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Contribute to the evolution of testing processes, including implementation of automated testing.
  • Develop documentation related to software validation/verification and client releases
  • Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Create use cases, user stories, glossaries, and other requirement-specification documents.
  • Prepare mockups and recommend optimal solutions based on business needs.
  • Collaborate with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Record detailed notes from project meetings.
  • Advise on risks and feasibility of proposed implementations.
  • Contribute to solutions that reflect user experience, business needs, and technical constraints.
  • Other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a software quality assurance role with exposure to business analysis tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and accuracy
  • Able to adapt to the company’s changing needs.
  • Strong work ethic: Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team player
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and its basic concepts
  • Firm grasp of user interface design best practices and conventions
  • Understanding of Agile methodology
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure DevOps or TFS a plus
  • Insurance domain experience a plus
  • Familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools such as Copilot a plus

Salary Range - $75,000 to $80,000 annually
