We are looking for a talented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing global team at Sectigo.
The Quality Assurance Engineer designs tests to validate the functionality of web and mobile applications. This role is a highly technical contributor and is a part of a dynamic cross-functional engineering team and be responsible for creating the initial test designs, writing the scripts, installing the testing protocols, reporting the results and maintaining the test infrastructure for Sectigo products.
Please Note: The Reporting Manager and the Work Arrangement requirements may be modified and redesigned based on business needs to ensure operational flexibility and organizational effectiveness.
This is a full-time position, working in a hybrid model, and reporting to our Ottawa office at least 3-4 days a week.
This is an individual contributor role, reporting to our Quality Assurance Engineer.
Here are the core functions, responsibilities, and expectations for this role:
- Understand Sectigo’s technical products specifications and test requirements.
- Own testing for features, products, and delivery
- Troubleshoot issues down to the root cause and provide detailed bug reports.
- Own all test results for each test suite and provide a high-level summary for areas tested.
- Collaborate with engineers and development team members to design overall test infrastructure.
- Develop and enhance QA tools to support testing.
- Write test plans and test case documentation, functional specifications, and review code.
- Discover, report, and verify issues in test documentation tools.
- Assist with technical customer support to our end-client customers and partners.
- Additional tasks associated with this position may be assigned in response to company initiatives and business needs.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Development, or equivalent work experience is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the role of QA testing or transferrable fields is required.
- Experience formulating test strategy, designing test cases, and modifying/executing regression test scripts.
- Experience designing and maintaining test harness and infrastructure with the latest industry tools.
- Experience generating and presenting quantitative reports.

- Understanding of QA best practices, principles, and methodologies.
- Ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment, highly accurate and detail-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to learn in a hands-on work environment, collaboration and problem-solving skills with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of programming languages (Java, JavaScript), Linux systems, and voice technology
- Basic knowledge of test automation.
- Willingness to execute test procedures to verify functionality against specs and product requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and programming practices, SQL and back-end concepts.
- Ability to thrive in a global fast-paced and deadline driven environment with frequently changing priorities.
