Job Summary

The sky is no longer the limit as Nidec takes its technology off the ground and into the Aerospace market. As a Quality System Manager with the Nidec Aerospace team, you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise to Manage the Quality System for the manufacture of the electric propulsion systems for the battery-powered aircrafts that will enable the world to sustainably and efficiently get from point A to point B.

Job Description

Purpose of the Position

Support on the development and sustain the Quality Assurance procedures and activities to maintain the required certifications as AS9100 and customer certification requirements during the product or program life on Nidec-Aerospace manufacture sites

The main task is the responsibility to audit the policies, procedures, training records and all documentation that is used to support Design, Engineering , Manufacturing, and Quality process through the audit program

Job Description and responsibilities

  • Create the QMS Annual audit program with all required elements from the AS9100 standard and customer requirements

  • Manage 100% the audit program to ensure that the Quality Management System keeps the required level to maintain AS9100 certification and customer requirements.

  • Manage the audit program to ensure that all nonconformities raised by the certification bodies during 3rd party audits, process/product customer audits are effectively corrected and independently verified.

  • Lead the Internal auditors’ team to achieve QMS targets including Business and customers targets.

  • Ensure that all in-house QM systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies and customers specific requirements

  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department (Document management, calibration, gage management, training records, etc)

  • Train others in all aspects of the QM system and application of procedures (Training Matrix)

  • Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate

  • Manage the Nonconformity data base

  • Lead and provide guidance to response internal and external corrective actions with all relevant departments

  •  Other activities identified by your supervisor according to the needs of the company.

Technical Attributes and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Mandatory Training on AS9100 Aerospace standard (by external certified body)

  • Mandatory Training on AS9100 Lead Internal auditor (by external certified body)

  • Experience on Quality Management System Auditing and managing audit programs

  • Minimum 5 years Direct working experience on AS9100 internal and 3rd party audits

  • Experience on internal and customers process and product audits

  • Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members

  • Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers

  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills

  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making

Preferred

  • Experience on NADCAP audits

  • Experience on Electric motors process and products

Minimum Requirements (proficiency levels aligned to job level) 

  • BS Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Aerospace Engineering)

  • +5 or more years of experience in QMS audits, Internal, customers and 3rd party audits
