We are looking for a Product Development Intern to join us for a four-month work term starting in May 2025. This role will involve working as part of a team on various product development projects and gaining exposure to the phases of the product development process. In the role, you'll have the opportunity to interact with different functions within the organization and receive mentoring from experienced product developers.
This position will be based in our Florenceville, New Brunswick office, with the expectation of working onsite/in-office three days a week.
Accountabilities:

  • Creating and testing product formulations at benchtop and lab scale to create new products or reformulate existing products.
  • Pilot line and factory testing to assess the scalability of benchtop formulations.
  • Test and validate product attributes and shelf life.
  • Collecting data and reporting on each testing phase in the development process.
  • You will learn experimental design and formulation development and how to scale from bench-scale testing to finished products.


Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in your 3 rd or 4 th year of university, pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field
  • A love of food!

  • Ability to effectively manage tight timelines and prioritize tasks in an agile environment; flexibly handling additional tasks as assigned.
  • Self-starting personality - you are highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • You communicate with honesty and kindness and can build trusting relationships.
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • High proficiency with standard MS applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).


About the team .
The intern will be part of our North American Product Development team. The team designs and develops exciting new products such as fries, pizza pockets, and desserts for retail and food service customers.
This position will be based in our Florenceville office, with the expectation of working onsite/in-office three days a week.

Hybrid
Compensation Package: $20.00 - $26.00 CAD hourly
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
