The Role

Priority-1 is seeking a Regional Sales Manager responsible for leading business development initiatives and managing a high-performing outside sales team within an assigned territory.

This role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on client engagement and requires the ability to operate independently while making sound business decisions aligned with the Company’s goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the duties and responsibilities of the Regional Sales Manager, include but are not limited to the following:

Sales Leadership and Team Development

• Recruits, hires, trains and manages to build and grow an outside sales team within the assigned territory;

• Develops a high-performance sales team through coaching, mentorship and performance management;

• Provides feedback, training and support to ensure accountability and achievement of sales targets; and

• Leads by example by modeling Priority-1 sales practices in the field.

Business Development and Client Management

• Prospects and develops new business through in-person meetings, telephone, and e-mail outreach;

• Builds and maintains relationships with new and existing clients;

• Conducts customer meetings to assess needs and identify profitable opportunities;

• Supports team members by modeling Priority-1 sales practices and assists in closing complex deals and expanding existing accounts;

• Develops and presents client presentations using PowerPoint and web-based tools; and

• Recommends pricing strategies to the Director of Sales, and closes contracts with new and existing clients.

Sales Operations, Collaboration and Performance Management

• Maintains regular in-person attendance within assigned territory to support to supervise team and conduct sales activities;

• Travels as required within assigned market(s) to visit customers and prospect potential customers and to support team development;

• Meets and exceeds established performance metrics including hiring targets, new business development goals, and sales forecast;

• Manages sales pipeline, forecasts and CRM activity to ensure accurate reporting and records;

• Provides regular reports and updates to the Director of Sales on team performance metrics, sales forecasts, pipeline status, market conditions, competitive intelligence, hiring progress, budget needs, and strategic initiatives;

• Participates in sales meetings and conference calls to give updates on sales targets and sales forecasts, including close ratio;

• Partners with internal teams to support client retention and growth;

• Provides timely expense report approvals or rejections according to the Priority-1 Expense Report Policy & submission schedule;

• Ensures adherence to Priority-1 sales practices and reporting standards; and

• Oversee office-related operational needs within assigned territory.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle, with the ability to travel majority of the time within the assigned territory;

• Minimum One (1) year of outside sales experience in the logistics industry required;

• Proven success selling logistics services in an outside sales environment;

• Demonstrated experience in recruiting, training, disciplining, leading and inspiring high performing sales teams;

• Solutions-oriented mindset, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets;

• High level of business and financial acumen;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the interpersonal skills needed in a fast paced, team centered environment;

• Ability to work independently and make sound business decisions;

• Proficiency with CRM systems and sales reporting tools, assists with process improvements; and

• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills to thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Required to drive regularly to varying client locations (including office and industrial environments) within assigned territory using a reliable private vehicle;

• Periodic standing, walking, bending and twisting;

• Frequent communication with team, existing and prospective clients via phone, video, and in-person meetings;

• Able to work on a computer for long periods of time;

• Required to work in a busy, open area office which may result in constant interruptions;

• Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy; and

• Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress.
