Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together. To solve this problem, we expanded into software and built integrated solutions to help sellers sell in-store and online, manage inventory and staff schedules, book appointments and engage loyal buyers.Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as sellers who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.

  • Evaluate compliance controls, operational procedures and related processes to ensure they meet regulatory expectations and are aligned with applicable industry best practices
  • Conduct second line of defense testing to monitor the effectiveness of compliance systems including escalation and reporting processes
  • Work closely with other second line of defense functions
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for independent audits and partner due-diligence reviews
  • Assist in the execution of the annual ML/TF & sanctions compliance risk assessment
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide compliance requirements in respect of new products and services
  • Maintain a strong relationship with relevant cross-functional partners across the organization

You Have

  • 5+ years' experience as a risk professional at a payments company, FinTech company, financial services firm and/or professional service firm serving financial institutions or payments or technology clients.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian AML/CTF regulations, the payments industry and related risks and typologies
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize a metrics-driven approach to drive change and influence stakeholders
  • Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
