Under broad supervision, conducts risk control assessment, evaluation, consulting and technical support for prospective, new and renewal business.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities\n• Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines.\n• Performs workplace/work site risk evaluation and consultative risk improvement services, and makes risk recommendation for the underwriting function. Includes recommending solutions to customers to minimize risk.\n• Works with senior risk control staff to assess program needs and implements customized strategy.\n• Partners with underwriting and other areas to provide information for risk evaluation and assessment. Includes reviewing accounts for operational issues, claims, profitability and agency management, etc.\n• Performs root cause loss analysis with rating and trending of losses for key accounts.\n• Develops and maintains business relationships with internal and external business partners.\n• Conducts education and training programs.\n• May identify opportunities for new products and services.\n• May provide expertise in one or more specialty area.\n• May perform additional duties as assigned. May be responsible for special projects and presentations.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Abilities\n• Solid technical and product specific expertise, risk control evaluation and assessment skills and knowledge of insurance and risk control principles, practices and procedures.\n• Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.\n• Strong organizational skills.\n• Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues.\n• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.\n• Ability to work independently.\n• Ability to exercise independent judgement and make critical business decisions effectively.\n• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.\n• Ability and willingness to travel extensively.\n\nEducation and Experience\n• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Professional designations preferred.\n• Minimum three to five years risk control experience with proven track record of results.
