Job Summary

    Analyst II, Sales Compensation is a critical member of the Sales Compensation team responsible for administering a large-scale sales incentive and commission program that directly impacts payroll processing across the organization. This role owns complex commission calculations, audits compensation data, validates payouts, and supports the accurate and timely processing of monthly, quarterly, and annual incentive payments. The position operates in a highly manual environment and requires advanced Excel skills to manage large datasets, perform reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and ensure compensation accuracy. The Analyst II serves as a key partner to Sales, Finance, Payroll, and Leadership teams while driving continuous process improvements and maintaining data integrity.


    Job Responsibilities
    • Administer and process monthly commissions, sales incentives, quarterly bonuses, and other variable compensation programs for a large sales organization.

    • Perform detailed audits, reconciliations, and validations of compensation data prior to payroll submission to ensure accurate and timely payouts.

    • Utilize advanced Excel functions, formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and manual reporting processes to calculate, reconcile, and analyze commission results.

    • Prepare monthly commission accruals and partner with Accounting and Payroll teams to support compensation-related financial reporting.

    • Research and resolve commission disputes, payout discrepancies, and data quality issues while maintaining a strong attention to detail.

    • Analyze large volumes of sales and compensation data to identify errors, trends, and opportunities for process improvements.

    • Collaborate with Sales Leadership, Finance, Payroll, and Operations teams to support compensation plan execution and business objectives.

    • Recommend and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of sales compensation programs.


    Key Skills
    • Advanced Excel expertise including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Index Match, nested formulas, data validation, and large dataset manipulation.

    • Experience managing complex sales compensation, commission, and incentive calculations.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and root causes.

    • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

    • Experience working with confidential compensation and payroll-related information.


    Qualifications

    Education & Years of Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree plus 2-5 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 6-9 years of relevant experience.


    Additional Experience
    • Required experience administering sales commissions, incentive compensation, or payroll-related compensation programs.

    • Experience supporting large-scale sales organizations with complex compensation plans and payout structures.

    • Experience performing manual commission calculations, reconciliations, and compensation audits in Excel.

    • Experience partnering with Payroll, Finance, Accounting, and Sales stakeholders.

    • Experience with commission management software such as Xactly, Varicent, CaptivateIQ, Spiff, or similar platforms preferred.

    • Systems implementation, process automation, or compensation process improvement experience is a plus.

    • Proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive compensation data

    Work Environment / Physical Requirements
    • Work is performed in an office/home office environment.

    • Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

      Pay Rate$66,500 - $79,000 Salary

      Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
