Job Description

Our Professional Information Business is seeking an exceptional individual to source  & drive new business opportunities for the Americas Strategic sales team.

 

The Sales Development Representative is responsible for identifying, contacting, and qualifying new leads in order to set-up introductory meetings with members of the Americas Strategic sales team.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Call current and prospective clients to set-up meetings for our Professional Information Business suite of products.  

  • Work closely with Sales Directors, Account Executives and Sales Specialists to devise sales campaigns for specific segments. Identify target groups, build prospect lists and generate qualified sales leads through targeted campaigns.

  • Identify, qualify and develop new leads to achieve and exceed personal and team revenue goals.   

  • Develop necessary internal relationships with all parts of the Professional Information Business team (Data Strategy, Product, Marketing & Sales).

  • Maintain records of sales calls, contacts and sales campaigns in the global CRM to provide timely management information.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • 1+ year experience required  

  • Comfort and confidence with cold calling.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Driven by results.  

  • Proactive, with a 'can do' attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast changing environment.

  • Good planning and organizational skills.  

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills a must.  

  • Experience in selling information and compliance tools to senior business decision makers a plus.  

  • Knowledge or ability to learn the processes and daily workflow of compliance personnel.

  • Ability to utilize effective influencing strategies to gain agreement or commitment to proposed solutions in order to help advance the sales process to the next level.

  • Ability to drive new business opportunities within new prospects, as well as ability to upsell to existing Dow Jones customers within a team selling environment.

  • Ability to identify key customer issues to determine whether it is appropriate to set-up a meeting with a specialist.

  • Ability to maintain effectiveness when working closely with people of diverse cultures or background.

  • Ability to effectively handle multiple activities and re-prioritize when necessary to ensure revenue goals are achieved.

  • Degree level education preferred

Pay Range: 50,000 - 65,000
