#CareersThatKickSaas! TrueContext is a field intelligence platform that connects frontline workers to enterprise systems of record, enabling teams in the field to capture, act on, and learn from structured data in real time. We sit at the intersection of mobility, AI, and enterprise workflow, serving customers in utilities, oil and gas, industrial manufacturing, and other asset-intensive, regulated industries.
The Opportunity
The Sales Engineer is the technical face of TrueContext in every deal. You will partner directly with Account Executives to understand what prospects are trying to solve in the field, translate those problems into compelling product demonstrations, and remove every technical objection standing between a prospect and a signed contract. This is not a back-office support role. You will be in the room (or on the call) for nearly every meaningful sales conversation, shaping how customers experience our platform for the first time.
The right person for this role has genuine technical curiosity, can build a demo environment that mirrors a prospect’s real-world operations, and is equally comfortable presenting to a field operations director as to a CIO. You will work across utilities, oil and gas, manufacturing, and other verticals where TrueContext wins by proving that our platform solves problems other tools cannot.
What You’ll Own
Technical Discovery and Solution Design
- Lead technical discovery calls to understand the prospect’s field operations, existing systems landscape (FSM, EAM, ERP, CRM), and integration requirements
- Map customer business problems to TrueContext capabilities and build solution architectures that address workflow, data capture, and enterprise integration needs
- Serve as the subject matter expert on TrueContext’s platform architecture, API and integration framework, offline capabilities, and AI features
Demos and Proof of Value
- Build and deliver customized product demonstrations tailored to each prospect’s industry, use case, and technical environment, following structured demo methodologies (Demo2Win, Great Demo, or equivalent)
- Develop and maintain reusable demo environments and industry-specific solution templates for priority verticals (utilities, oil and gas, industrial manufacturing)
- Lead proof-of-concept engagements where required, defining success criteria with the prospect and managing execution to close
Sales Partnership and Deal Progression
- Partner with Account Executives to advance opportunities through the pipeline, owning the technical win in each deal
- Participate in RFP/RFI responses, providing accurate technical content and competitive positioning
- Identify and address technical objections and competitive threats early, escalating product gaps to Product Management with clear business context
- Support trade shows, industry events, and field marketing activities as a technical representative of TrueContext
Knowledge and Enablement
- Stay current on TrueContext product releases, platform capabilities, and AI features so you can speak with authority in every conversation
- Contribute technical content to sales enablement materials, competitive battle cards, and internal knowledge bases
- Provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering on what you are hearing from prospects, including feature requests, integration gaps, and competitive losses
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical sales role in B2B SaaS, ideally selling into field operations, field service, or asset-intensive industries
- Strong technical foundation: you can speak credibly about APIs, integrations, mobile architecture, and enterprise IT environments without needing a script
- Demonstrated ability to build compelling, customized product demonstrations that connect platform capabilities to business outcomes
- Experience working alongside enterprise sales teams and presenting to audiences ranging from field supervisors to CIOs
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to manage multiple active deals in parallel without losing quality or follow-through
- Fluent with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.) and uses them actively to research prospects, prepare demos, and accelerate technical work
- Prior experience with field service platforms, mobile data capture, or workflow automation tools is a strong plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on technical experience is equally valued
Why This Role
TrueContext is at an inflection point. We are investing in AI, expanding into new verticals, and building the sales organization to match our ambition. The Sales Engineer who joins now will have direct influence on how our platform is positioned and sold in the market, working closely with a growing team that has a clear mandate to scale. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role with real room to grow.
Some Extra Benefits:
