What you will do

We are hiring a highly analytical Sales Operations Commissions Analyst to join our team in Denver. You will contribute to Lighthouse’s success through providing support to the commercial teams, making sure every salesperson is paid correctly and on time.

You will own the end-to-end cycle of commission administration, from setting up plans in our system [Salesforce] Spiff, to making the final payment calculations. We need someone who is an expert in Salesforce.com reporting, and can find ways to automate our processes and deliver clear insights. You will be the first point of contact for both senior sales leadership and sales representatives to discuss and roll out commission plans. In this role you will be reporting to our Senior Manager of Sales Operations within the Business Operations team.

Where you will have impact

  • Commissions administration; issue compensation plan documents for all new joiners and during every financial year transition. Manage the end-to-end global commission calculation process for all commissionable roles in accordance with compensation plan documents, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Serve as the primary system administrator and subject matter expert for our compensation platform, Spiff. This includes managing plan design configuration, maintaining data integrity, troubleshooting, handing over monthly files to payroll, and creating detailed commission statements.
  • Audit and validate sales performance data across systems, including reviewing commission-related data in Salesforce, Looker, bookings reports, and contracts to ensure transactional accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the sales team regarding their incentive compensation. Manage and resolve commission inquiries and disputes from the sales team in a timely and professional manner, providing clear explanations of plan mechanics and calculations.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g., using Salesforce, Google Sheets, Looker, or Spiff) to provide leadership with detailed analyses on commission trends, plan effectiveness, and quota attainment.
  • Identify inefficiencies in the commission process and actively implement improvements to streamline methodologies and enhance reporting.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Exception Management: Act as a key liaison with senior Sales leadership and Finance/People/Legal teams to manage, communicate, and document exceptions, adjustments, and policy interpretations, ensuring alignment across the commercial organisation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, collaborating with the Finance and Accounting teams on commission accruals, reconciliations, and audit requests.
  • Plan Management: Assist in the design and modeling of new incentive compensation plans, including administering sales incentives (spiffs) and managing commission plan adjustments for new hires and departures.
  • Tactical sales ops support: Assist the tactical sales ops team and finance ops team with day-to-day scenarios, ensuring data accuracy for comp calculations
  • Strategic support: understand and execute operational plans that support the wider sales operations strategy and priorities
  • Develop and implement training, content, processes and tools needed to support sales fully understand their commission plan.
  • Prioritise your workload and set appropriate expectations with stakeholders across different departments.

Who you are:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Sales Operations, Finance, or Business Operations, with at least 1-2 years of direct experience administering and calculating sales commissions.
  • Ability to manage and protect highly sensitive and confidential compensation data. Discretion and integrity are crucial for this role. 
  • Advanced proficiency in using and administering a commission management software, such as Spiff (experience with other platforms like Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or QuotaPath is also a plus).
  • Proficiency with CRM systems; Salesforce is required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform successfully and thrive in a fast-paced, intense, high-growth Tech/SaaS environment.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex compensation plans and communicate logic clearly to stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements.

In addition to benefits and other Lighthouse total rewards, the annual base salary for this role is $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 USD. We benchmark our salary ranges for new hires in relation to the role, level, and role location; however, we consider a multitude of factors, to include relevant experience, skills, and education/training, to determine compensation within the identified range.
