SALARY: $68K – $71K + PFP

ROLE SUMMARY: 

Determined to grow market share in all segments of the business, Sales Representatives are responsible for growing the company portfolio by acquiring and maintaining fruitful relationships at assigned accounts relevant to their market.  The overall purpose of this position is to execute the Cutwater sales objectives including volume, share, distribution, assortment, shelf space, drink menus, features etc. with account partners.  They engage consumers through point of sale, shelf assortment, creative displays, sampling programs and menu placements at accounts. The primary function of this role is to sell-in and influence our key retailer partners, through partnership, communication, and consistency. The Sales Representative must be critically aware of industry best practices, and regional competition and canned cocktail and spirits strategies. The Sales Representative works independently under the loose general guidance of the Regional Sales Manager.

While the company is headquartered in San Diego, CA, this position spends of the bulk of their time in the field in their assigned market.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Drive sales in national/regional chains and independent account locations.
  • Achieve distribution, display space, and shelf placement objectives in assigned off-premise retail accounts.
  • Achieve distribution, shelf visibility, and menu placement objectives in assigned on-premise accounts.
  • Increase brand presence in the marketplace by facilitating promotional and tasting events as needed, nights and weekends included.
  • Strengthen and expand current business partnerships with accounts.
  • Educate and manage the Distributor Sales Teams to ensure they are presenting and executing to Cutwater standards.
  • Passionately share the Cutwater story.
  • Participate in new product launches, promotions, and events as the face of Cutwater. 
  • Grow topline sales and share with assigned accounts.
  • Build working relationships with assigned account buyers.
  • Direct and manage space management priorities of Cutwater and the account.
  • Utilize sales tools (KARMA, IRI, etc).
  • Foster relationships with wholesaler personnel and maintain active communications with key stakeholders in the field.
  • Contribute to the development and management of annual account plan including reviewing SLA’s and account classifications to maximize efforts.
  • Facilitate communication of wholesaler’s pricing to chain account.
  • Provides feedback to management on strategic opportunities.
  • Provides monthly reports to management on account and programming performances.
  • Educates and influences corporate decision-makers on product lines.
  • Embraces and fulfills the 10 Principles and culture of Cutwater
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and ability to prioritize a varied workload.
  • Captivating storytelling skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and maintain effective working relationships with distributors, top level account decision makers, and all internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision – self-motivated.
  • High level of canned cocktail and spirits product knowledge.
  • Excellent oral, analytical, written, and group presentation communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of company products and industry best practices.
  • Highly self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, and third-party partners.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly competitive and dynamic work environment.
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to multi-task.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred). 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record. 
  • Have reliable transportation to travel to and from various locations.
  • 1 or more years of sales/business development experience (preferred).  
  • Spirits/alcohol beverage industry knowledge a must.  
  • 1 or more years’ experience in sales in beverage alcohol industry (preferred).
  • Knowledgeable about assigned market. 
  • 1+ years’ experience working in assigned market (preferred).   
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).
