Part of the Professional Services team, responsibilities include delivering, integrating, maintaining, and optimizing security solutions effectively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure outcomes meet quality standards.

As a Security Architect II, you will be responsible for:

• Managing security and delivery processes for customers, overseeing technical lifecycle from configuration and testing to production deployment.
• Architecting the end-to-end lifecycle of customer configurations, integrating CDN, WAF, API Security, Bot Management, and other solutions into a seamless, full-stack delivery security chain.
• Analyzing traffic and system architecture and customizing security solutions to address and remediate security challenges.
• Managing and documenting technical issues, stakeholder responses and requests to ensure information is recorded and updated across projects.
• Collaborating with cross-functional project teams to scope, set timelines, create technical solutions, and support ongoing implementations.
• Participating in ongoing training initiatives to up-skill yourself and train others.
• Leveraging automation through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Akamai CLI) and scripting (Python, Powershell) to streamline configurations and deployments where possible.
• Utilizing Web Developer Tools, Postman, cURL, and Burp Suite to troubleshoot, validate, and optimize end-to-end security and delivery lifecycles.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5yrs of relevant experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, another related technical field or it's equivalent.
• Apply expertise in DNS, routing, HTTP, TCP, TLS, APIs, and application security principles.
• Be able to analyze web traffic, architectures, and customize Akamai security solutions to resolve customer security challenges.
• Leverage OWASP, firewalls, network security products, and client/server architectures to strengthen application security.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly while solving problems proactively with an automation-first approach using Terraform, Akamai CLI, and scripting.
• Embrace AI-driven innovation, continuous learning, and outcome-focused execution to deliver measurable security improvements

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from 92,900 - 167,100 CAD/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
