Job Description

You will be a Senior Account Manager within a fast-growing Account Management team, responsible for driving growth with our platform partners in North America. You’ll identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across your partner portfolio, execute the deals effectively, and build relationships with key stakeholders.

The role is based in our Austin office,working closely with the Head of Account Management, Commercial Director, Account Management and Customer Success teams based in North America. You will collaborate with other functions across Wise Platform regionally and globally,  including Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Delivery and Business Development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Growth & Expansion: Own the full commercial strategy for your portfolio, identifying and executing opportunities to upsell and cross-sell new solutions across existing fintech partners.

  • Strategic Account Ownership: Act as the end-to-end owner of the partner relationship, managing both retention and new sales within existing accounts.

  • Commercial & Legal Negotiation: Lead commercial discussions and contract negotiations, ensuring competitive terms that align with Wise Platform’s pricing and revenue goals.

  • Go-to-Market Collaboration: Partner with Pre-Sales, Delivery, and Product teams to drive product adoption and seamless implementation of new API solutions.

  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior decision-makers at fintech partners, influencing their international payments strategy and advocating for Wise as their preferred provider.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with the Head of Account Management, North America Commercial Director, and teams across Compliance, Customer Success, and Product to drive execution.

  • Data-Driven Growth Planning: Use analytics and market insights to create and execute growth strategies, ensuring that accounts are on track with forecasted performance.

Your mission:

  • Work with the Wise Platform team to build, close, and deliver a strong pipeline of opportunities within your existing accounts, driving product innovation, revenue, and volume growth for Wise.

  • Develop comprehensive account plans for key platform partners, articulating strategies for expansion and growth.

  • Establish strong relationships with your platform partners by understanding their strategic objectives and decision-making process. Lead QBRs and become the subject matter expert for your partners.

  • Design and manage stakeholder maps that capture essential contacts from Wise and the Partner and how they engage each other.

  • Utilize data to pinpoint opportunities and to inform data-driven dialogue with your partners.

  • Provide consistent and concise internal updates on partner performance and engagements, highlighting blockers and leveraging support across various functions as required.

  • Collaborate closely with other Wise teams to develop and enhance Wise product capabilities in the online platforms vertical through new integrated partnership opportunities.

  • Develop deep expertise in payments and show thought leadership on complex topics.

  • Work on projects and initiatives to improve our strategy and approach both within the North America region and globally, such as helping iterate our product roadmap, pricing strategies, go-to-market efforts - or anything else that helps drive growth.

Qualifications

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Business Development & Commercial Acumen – Strong sales mindset, with experience in expanding revenue within existing accounts rather than just maintaining relationships. 

  • Negotiation & Deal Structuring – Ability to navigate complex commercial and legal negotiations, ensuring partner agreements are competitive yet profitable. 

  • API & Payments Industry Knowledge – Strong understanding of API-led international payment solutions, and the ability to sell technical products to fintechs. 

  • Executive-Level Influence – Experience engaging with C-level execs, Heads of Product, and Finance leaders at fintechs to drive strategic partnerships. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Ability to work across Sales, Product, Delivery, and Compliance teams to ensure partners successfully launch and scale new payment solutions. 

  • Analytical & Growth-Focused – Comfortable working with data and forecasts to identify growth opportunities and execute against ambitious revenue targets. 

  • Ownership & Independence – Highly autonomous, with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset to drive growth without needing heavy guidance.

Ideal Background:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in an Account Management or Sales role, working in the payment space.

  • 5  years experience in fintech, payments, SaaS, or API-based B2B sales 

  • Strong understanding of cross-border payments, embedded finance, and partner-led GTM strategies

  • You’re experienced in building and maintaining relationships with a range of stakeholders of all sizes – from CEOs, to heads of payments, product managers and risk and innovation.

  • You are familiar with the software and FinTech landscape in North America, and understand how cross border payments works for them today.

  • You have a track record of successfully growing accounts in the software and financial services space to generate increased revenues.

  • You’re hands on, not afraid to roll-up your sleeves, lead partner calls, listen to their feedback and work with the wider team on devising a plan to meet partners’ expectations, whilst achieving our objectives.

  • You’re into the details - you get close to deals and understand where we can really invest to have the biggest impact.

  • You’re as comfortably technically - helping a partner solution the best way to use Wise Platform - as you are discussing commercial and legal terms.

  • You are passionate about high growth businesses and have a desire to contribute significantly to our overarching Wise Platform mission
