What you’ll do
Trouw Nutrition is looking for detailed-oriented driven Senior Accountant with strong expertise in General Ledger accounting, balance sheet ownership, and account reconciliations.

  • General Ledger Ownership & Core Accounting: ownership of assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper support across all balances. This includes preparing and posting high volumes of journal entries, with a strong understanding of debits and credits and accountability from preparation through to final posting. You will manage key accounting activities such as accruals, prepaids, and error corrections, ensuring all entries are appropriately recorded and supported.

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Account Integrity: Prepare, review, and maintain detailed reconciliations, proactively investigating variances, clearing aged items, and ensuring all balances are fully supported.

  • Intercompany & Multi-Entity Environment: Work across multiple business units, managing related party transactions and ensuring balances are accurately recorded, reconciled, and aligned between entities.

  • Technical Accounting, IFRS & Audit Support: Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards to ensure proper classification, recognition, and presentation of financial information. This includes exercising professional judgment on complex or non-routine transactions and preparing accounting position memos when required.

  • Ownership, Communication & Continuous Improvement: Proactive, self-starting individual who takes full ownership of their work. You will be expected to investigate issues thoroughly, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and persist until balances are fully understood and resolved.

Who we’re looking for

  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA designation completed or actively in progress.

  • 2–4 years of progressive experience in a hands-on accounting role. At least 1 year of experience operating at a Senior Accountant level, with demonstrated success in account reconciliations, variance analysis, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Experience in a multi-entity, multi-business-unit environment is strongly preferred.

  • A solid understanding of IFRS and the ability to apply sound accounting judgment are essential.

  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to work efficiently with large data sets and support reconciliation and analysis activities. Experience with Power BI or similar tools is considered an asset.

You’ll also need

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with a heavier workload at month-end.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain accounting matters, follow up proactively with internal and external stakeholders, and build effective working relationships across finance teams.

  • A proactive, self-starting mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Demonstrates persistence in investigating and resolving issues, and the confidence to ask questions and challenge assumptions when needed.
