Senior Analyst, Direct Operational Analytics - KPI Team
Want to help shape the performance of our multi-billion dollar direct-to-consumer personal lines business? The Direct Operational Analytics KPI team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Analyst to help monitor, explain, and forecast performance across Liberty Mutual's Direct channel, which encompasses both digital and call center sales analytics.
In this role, you'll turn complex data into actionable insights that influence real-time operational decisions and financial planning. You'll analyze funnel performance, identify drivers of KPI movement,
investigate emerging trends, and help business partners understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what actions to consider next.
This is a highly collaborative and visible role that partners closely with adjacent Analytics teams like Media and Strategic Partnerships, Finance, and Operational Data & Reporting. It is ideal for someone who enjoys ambiguous problem-solving, working with large datasets, and translating quantitative findings into clear business recommendations. Our team values curiosity, collaboration, and clear communication and look for people who are excited to dig into the data, challenge assumptions, and help business partners make better decisions.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. What You'll Do
- Analyze KPI trends across segments and channels to understand performance versus plan and identify drivers of operational and financial gaps.
- Monitor real-time and monthly results against expectations, investigating meaningful deviations and surfacing actionable insights.
- Support Direct financial planning by collaborating across teams to set forward-looking business targets and performance expectations.
- Query, curate, and analyze large datasets from multiple platforms and sources to answer critical and complex business questions.
- Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling presentations and recommendations for stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Partner with Operational Data & Reporting to prioritize, develop, and optimize standard reporting that improves visibility into business performance.
- Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while proactively communicating progress, risks, and insights to business partners.
What You'll Bring
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with large datasets and using data to diagnose business performance and comfort working through ambiguity and bringing structure to complex business problems.
- Ability to connect operational trends to financial and strategic outcomes, with strong communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to tailor insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills, with experience preparing materials for a variety of audiences, including senior leadership.
- Ability to collaborate and influence effectively across peer teams.
- Technical proficiency with analytical tools such as SQL, Excel, Python/R, Power BI, or similar platforms, as applicable.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum 3 years, typically 4 or more years of experience, or equivalent, is required.
- Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field are preferred fields of study.
- Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, statistical principles and methodologies, and techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization, etc.), PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (SAS, Emblem).
- Must have good planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills. Solid understanding of business to improve business outcomes.
