You will be working on Nesto Cloud, Canada’s most advanced cloud platform, delivering end-to-end technology solutions for lenders in the digital age.
About the Team
Core AI is building shared backend services that power AI-driven decisioning and workflows across products, with security, auditability, and multi-tenancy as first-class requirements. The platform enables teams to ship faster by providing consistent primitives for configuration, governance, runtime execution, and observability.
What You’ll Be Doing- Build core services for configuration and versioning, access control, audit trails, and runtime orchestration.
- Design robust APIs and integrations with existing product systems, with strong patterns for idempotency, timeouts/retries, and clear error taxonomy.
- Implement SaaS-grade foundations: observability (logs/metrics/traces), reliability patterns, and secure-by-design practices.
- Collaborate closely with front-end developers and ML engineers to build and optimize robust, high-performance services and data interfaces.
- Establish operational readiness: runbooks, dashboards, alerting, and safe rollout/rollback mechanisms.
- Drive engineering quality through testing strategy, reviews, and maintainable design (modularity, testability, and clear service boundaries).
- Work in an Agile delivery cadence, contributing to planning, estimation, and iterative release.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5–8+ years of backend experience building production systems.
- Strong experience in Go and/or Python (or similar) with solid distributed systems fundamentals.
- Experience designing and operating APIs and services in a cloud-native environment (Docker/Kubernetes), including CI/CD and operational best practices.
- Strong security mindset and comfort handling sensitive data, including least-privilege access patterns and auditability.
- Experience working in Agile teams (iterative delivery, cross-functional collaboration).
- Excellent communication skills and strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with workflow orchestration (e.g., Temporal or similar).
- Experience implementing RBAC/authorization systems and audit/event logging patterns.
- Familiarity with observability standards (OpenTelemetry) and production monitoring tooling.
