The Senior Backend Developer will enhance applications, manage APIs, collaborate with teams, and document changes, ensuring high-performance systems.
Position Overview:
ShyftLabs is looking for an Senior Backend Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit to work in a fast-paced environment,excellent programming skills and a passion for both developing applications and improving existing ones. As a Senior Backend developer at ShyftLabs, you’ll work closely with our engineers and product team to build products, ensure system consistency, and improve our overall user experience.

Job Responsibilities:
You are responsible for product development, testing, deployment, and support.
Develop and enhance existing applications as per product requirements.
Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications.
Collaborate with Frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Develop and maintain APIs and data processing pipelines that integrate with various internal and external systems.
Manage individual priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Work with a small cross-functional team of engineers, PMs, data engineers, and designers.
Help the team in documenting changes made in different artifacts.
Help team members in the knowledge-sharing session.
Ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in backend development with a focus on high-performance and scalable systems.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience with database design and management, particularly with large-scale databases.
Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS.
Knowledge of server-less computing, containerization, and microservices is a plus.
Working knowledge of our Tech stack: Java, Python, Node, GraphQL, RESTful APIs, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
