Position: Senior Business Analyst

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support large-scale technology implementation initiatives within the Public Sector client . The successful candidate will play a critical role in business requirements elicitation, process design, testing coordination, and stakeholder engagement across complex enterprise systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate design workshops with stakeholders and project teams
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements
  • Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
  • Translate requirements into tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) for testing and traceability
  • Prepare test plans, test cases, and execute testing activities
  • Coordinate defect triage, test execution, and results reporting
  • Report on testing status, risks, and issues
  • Support process improvement initiatives and business transformation efforts

Deliverables

  • Business Requirements Documents (BRD) with stakeholder approvals
  • Test plans, scenarios, cases, and execution reports
  • Execution and support of various testing types (functional, integration, UAT, performance, etc.)
  • Analytical reports and dashboards for management
  • Tracking and documentation of defects and issues
  • Participation in benefits realization and additional assigned activities

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in:
    • Business analysis and requirements elicitation
    • Facilitating stakeholder workshops
    • Documenting business workflows and system processes
  • Experience designing "as-is" and "to-be" processes using BPMN
  • Strong experience in large-scale IT solution implementation (analysis, design, testing, rollout)
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Maximo (v7/v8/v9) and Maximo Application Suite
  • Experience in asset management systems (preventative maintenance, work orders, vendor management, etc.)
  • Experience in QA/testing including UAT coordination and test planning
  • Familiarity with tools such as HP ALM (asset)
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, data modeling, business intelligence, and enterprise IT environments
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work model (2 days remote, 3 days onsite)
  • Standard business hours (7 hours/day, 5 days/week)
