Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
As a Senior Business Analyst, Broker Distribution you will be responsible to analyze data, monitor and distribute reports related to broker relationship management and performance. This role will be working directly with the leadership and business development teams in the Ontario Division.
The ideal candidate is a data-driven expert who excels at transforming complex data into compelling stories and strategic recommendations. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will leverage your analytical prowess and innovative thinking to influence key business decisions and drive organizational success.
What you'll do here:
Analyze business performance metrics to provide strategic recommendations that align with company goals and enhance business growth.
Craft compelling narratives using various tools to communicate complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to diverse stakeholders.
Collaborate with multiple teams to drive best practices and ensure alignment with organizational strategies.
Stay up to date on industry trends, data analytics advancements, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge and drive continuous organizational improvement.
Collect, monitor and analyze broker data to identify trends, issues and potential solutions. Examples include, but are not limited to: adoption of digital tools, broker performance results, deep dives, etc.
Create and automate reports that present relevant data in a clear and concise format.
Lead small to large scale projects with stakeholders across the operation to enhance efficiency, improve stakeholder experience, drive growth and profitability.
Act as a technical resource to support day-to-day operations.
Work with stakeholders to dive deep into problems, find root causes of issues and determine possible solutions/recommendations. Challenge the status-quo, be inquisitive and curious to dive deep into issues.
Analyze business and operational challenges and recommend solutions to business leaders, in support of performance and effectiveness.
Prepare materials as needed that present the data in a clear and concise manner and adapt depending on the audience.
What you bring to the role:
Bachelor’s degree in a data-related field (i.e., Mathematics, Science, Statistics, AI, Computer Science, Actuarial etc.), or any combination of equivalent education and experience
5+ years of relevant work experience as a data analyst or review complex datasets
Experience with developing operational reporting is considered a strong asset
Experience with leading moderately complex analyses is considered a strong asset
Strong experience with programming languages and data management (Power BI, SAS, SQL, Python, VBA, PowerApps)
Experience working with Actuaries considered an asset
Knowledge of broker relationship management and Property & Casualty Insurance considered an asset
Strong ability to think critically, adaptable, analytical, and highly innovative
Self-driven, autonomous and solution-oriented
