Mejuri is the category-defining fine jewelry brand redefining luxury, your way. Feeling disconnected from an industry that typically markets to men, co-founder and CEO Noura Sakkijha leveraged her learnings as a third-generation jeweller to rethink the way women purchase jewelry—for themselves. In only seven years, and with a team of over 75% women, Mejuri has shipped over one million orders and opened retail stores across the globe, all while introducing new products weekly.

As part of Noura’s original vision to empower women to invest in themselves, the brand launched the Empowerment Fund to support underrepresented women and non-binary individuals with the tools to empower themselves. Mejuri continues to reach new customers through exciting community initiatives and expansion into international markets, such as the UK, Australia and Germany.

We are a team of retailers, creatives, technologists and strategists, and we are looking for someone special to join our team.

Senior Data Engineer

As the Senior Data Engineer, you will build and scale the infrastructure that powers data-driven decisions across the company. You’ll be critical in designing and maintaining robust pipelines and data systems that enable analytics, experimentation, and real-time insights. This is a unique opportunity to work across core data domains like customer behaviour, operations, and marketing, partnering closely with data scientists, analytics engineers, and business stakeholders.

Job Overview

  • Develop & Maintain Data Pipelines: Design and build scalable, reliable data pipelines using Dagster and Python. Manage end-to-end ingestion, transformation, and delivery of data across domains, including customer, transactional, operational, and event data.
  • Build Core Data Applications: Own and evolve foundational systems like customer 360, event tracking pipelines, and data models that support marketing attribution, personalization, and analytics use cases.
  • Partner with Stakeholders: Collaborate with data scientists, analytics engineers, and business teams to understand data needs and deliver performant, trusted, and production-ready data products.
  • Platform & Infrastructure Excellence: Implement best practices for testing, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Docker). Improve platform reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
  • Champion Data Quality: Ensure pipelines are robust, monitored, and well-documented. Support a strong data governance and documentation culture in partnership with analytics engineering.

What you'll bring to the team

  • Technical Expertise: Strong experience with Python for data engineering and building pipelines using modern orchestration tools (e.g., Dagster, Airflow). Proficient in ELT/ETL development with cloud warehouses like BigQuery.
  • Modern Stack Fluency: Hands-on experience with DBT, version control (GitHub), and infrastructure tools such as Docker, Terraform, or Kubernetes. Experience working with event data and customer data platforms like Segment is a plus.
  • Performance & Reliability Focus: Ability to build high-performance, scalable data systems that support both batch and real-time use cases. Comfortable with observability, testing, and CI/CD in data engineering workflows.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving. Ability to translate technical complexity into stakeholder-ready solutions.

Nice to haves

  • Experience building ML or feature engineering pipelines in partnership with data science teams.
  • Familiarity with real-time data streaming tools such as Kafka or Spark.
  • Experience working in a modern marketing tech stack (e.g., Segment, Braze, CDPs).
  • Exposure to experimentation frameworks or data products supporting A/B testing.
  • Understanding of Retail and Direct-to-Consumer workflows, challenges, and business requirements.
