Bounteous is looking for a Contract Senior Designer to join our fast-growing design practice. The Senior Designer designs and contributes to creative concepts, detailed design, enhancements, and execution of digital media (websites, mobile applications, social media assets, email templates, etc.) for a wide variety of clients. The ideal candidate must be able to design, develop, or enhance existing graphic/identity branding that meets marketing objectives, integrates customer usability best practices, and address client brand standards. This is a hands-on opportunity ideal for an organized and detail-oriented individual who can consistently deliver high quality, data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate is a naturally engaging storyteller who works closely with cross-disciplinary teams to further best practices at every opportunity.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support User Research and Analysis: Lead user research initiatives to understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points for both authenticated and non-authenticated user journeys, as directed by Product Manager/Owner Leads. 
  • Analyze user data and feedback to inform design decisions and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Create user personas, journey maps, and scenarios based on research insights.
  • UX/UI Design & Prototyping: Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for digital products that align with aligned product features, interactions and user stories, as well as brand and UX standards, patterns, and components. 
  • Develop wireframes, mockups, interaction flows, and interactive prototypes to communicate and specify design concepts. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure a cohesive and consistent visual and interactive experience aligned to design system patterns and components. 
  • Lead the design and ongoing evolution of design system as necessary to deliver design specifications.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, developers, QA testers, and other stakeholders to continuously define requirements and deliver features as design-ready specifications. 
  • Participate in and potentially lead stand-ups, sprint planning, and review meetings to align project goals and timelines. 
  • Provide UX guidance and expertise throughout the development cycle to ensure the product meets appropriate and reasonable acceptance criteria.
  • Usability Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead and facilitate client teams' usability testing sessions to validate design concepts and identify potential issues. 
  • Analyze usability test results and recommend design adjustments. 
  • Ensure the final product delivers a high-quality user experience by participating in QA reviews and testing.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Document UX design processes, research findings, and design rationale for team reference. 
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate UX findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Visual Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field. 
  • 5-10+ years of experience in UX and UI design, preferably within a digital product development environment. 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UX and UI design projects, user research, wireframes, prototypes, and usability testing results. 
  • Expert proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Miro, Mural, and related design and visualization and collaborative tools. 
  • Working knowledge and experience with design thinking and lean UX principles 
  • Extensive experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams. 
  • Deep familiarity with responsive design and accessibility standards. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and collaborate effectively. 
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Extensive experience with authenticated and non-authenticated user experience design. 
  • Well-versed with Financial Services products, experiences, and industry common practices. 
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and measurement 
  • Thorough knowledge of front-end technologies and relevant platforms to effectively communicate with development teams. 
  • Extensive experience in designing for mobile applications and web platforms.
