A Senior Designer is a creative and strategic thinker with strong design and research skills, ready to help elevate our creative work. As part of the creative team, you’ll design across a range of projects, working closely with creative, strategy, and account partners to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and bring visual ideas to life.
In this senior role, you’ll use your experience to push thinking further—challenging the brief when it makes sense and going beyond it to create work that’s not just great-looking, but highly functional. You’ll dig into briefs and research to truly understand each client’s industry, products or services, brand, and business goals. The most successful Senior Designer is proactive, curious, and quick to learn, with a versatile design approach and the confidence to adapt to whatever the work calls for.
Reports to: Creative Director
Objectives of this role:
- Oversee all design elements, from the conception to final delivery to ensure the highest quality product
- Collaborate across the organization to drive up standards of the creative in a variety of different mediums
- Become the lead designer on several large and/or important accounts to the agency
- Have the ability to see beyond the role of a designer and become a communicator to create effect solutions that are based on objectives and reach the desired end results
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times
- Continually raise the bar on creativity and strives for excellence, design and visual communication that connects with the desired audience and drives action
- Comfortably vary approach, style, and other characteristics demanded by the industry, company, or target audience at hand
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends
- Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in design
Summary of responsibilities:
- Come to meetings prepared with questions and ideas and leave with clear next steps or action items
- Be active in conversations about the work by sharing your thoughts and questions to help facilitate idea generation
- Manage your time to ensure you are giving your projects the proper amount of time and attention, and proactively flag issues such as capacity and/or missing resources
- Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution on assigned brands
- Research and understand the client's needs and target audiences, through online searches, review of existing research and in-person meetings with internal team
- Create original designs for a range of corporate branding, marketing, and advertising materials
- Present design concepts and final deliverables to internal team, and to client representative as needed, and participate in client pitches on occasion
- Revise designs based on internal and client feedback/direction
- Review creative issues as they arise and assist in resolving to the satisfaction of Strategy, Client Services and Creative teams
- Provide solid rationale that explains the thinking behind design choices and demonstrates how those choices answer and align to the creative brief
- Collaborate with a team from concept development to delivery of final product
What you bring:
- 7+ years of design experience working with diverse businesses
- Solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Microsoft Office Suite
- A passion for design, advertising and the agency life
- You thrive on variety and are always looking for the next challenge
- Comfortable designing for both large B2B clients and smaller not‑for‑profits
- You are a team player who loves brainstorming and collaborating to find the best solution to problems
- Experience using AI or generative tools to enhance creativity and efficiency
- Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
