Position Overview

At Autodesk, we are changing how people design and create, empowering them to imagine, design, and make a better world. The Bidding group within Autodesk Construction Solutions is looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)/DevOps Developer to help build, operate, and continuously improve highly available, resilient, and scalable cloud-native services that power our customers' critical workflows.

In this role, you will partner closely with Software Engineering, Infrastructure, and Platform teams to improve developer productivity, strengthen platform reliability, automate operational processes, and enhance observability across production services. You will own service health, operational excellence, disaster recovery readiness, security compliance, and CI/CD automation while driving continuous improvements in monitoring, infrastructure as code, and incident management.
 

Your work will include building and maintaining Kubernetes-based workloads, AWS infrastructure, MongoDB-backed services, observability platforms such as Dynatrace, cloud automation, disaster recovery solutions, and secure operational processes that enable engineering teams to deliver software reliably and efficiently.
 

You will report to the Manager, Software Development as part of a remote team (distributed engineering team).
 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Infrastructure & Systems teams to design and implement innovative solutions that improve developer velocity, infrastructure resiliency, security, and availability

  • Establish, hone, and facilitate adherence to team SLO / SLI targets

  • Drive processes, including service reviews, fire drills, chaos testing, incident response, and incident post mortem's

  • Collaborate with partners to understand requirements, use cases, and build towards a cohesive strategy

  • Develop scripts and tooling to execute deployment and configuration for service updates

  • Engage in deep technical discussions that shape robust, performant solutions

  • Coordinate and perform major upgrades with zero downtime

  • Keep systems updated for security compliance

  • Troubleshoot complex technical problems

  • Solve live performance, stability issues and prevent recurrence

  • Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of production experience in large-scale cloud-based Infrastructure (AWS preferred)

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least two years working experience as an SRE Developer

  • Ability to track and prioritize multiple tasks coming in simultaneously

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Understanding of DevOps best practices, architectures, and methods

  • Experience with scripting languages, including one or more of Javascript, Python, Linux/Unix Shell

  • Experience with cloud-native applications

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration

  • Experience managing SaaS database solutions (e.g. MongoDB Atlas, DynamoDB, Redshift, etc.)

  • Experience with configuration management tools and cloud automation (e.g. TerraForm, Chef, Ansible, etc.)

  • Experience defining and building CI/CD processes and working with common CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins / Circle CI / Spinnaker, etc.)

  • Experience building applications on AWS using services such as Step functions, IAM, EC2, S3, CloudWatch and Lambda

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile software development practices

  • Experience consuming, designing, and implementing REST APIs

  • Experience with networking and security concepts

  • Experience with log ingestion, monitoring and discoverability tools (New Relic, Splunk, DataDog, BugSnag)

  • Security/audit experience e.g. SOC2, FedRAMP, etc

À ce poste, vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec les équipes d’ingénierie logicielle, d’infrastructure et de plateforme afin d’améliorer la productivité des développeurs, de renforcer la fiabilité de la plateforme, d’automatiser les processus opérationnels et d’améliorer l’observabilité de l’ensemble des services de production. Vous serez responsable de la santé des services, de l’excellence opérationnelle, de la préparation à la reprise après sinistre, de la conformité en matière de sécurité et de l’automatisation CI/CD, tout en pilotant des améliorations continues dans les domaines de la surveillance, de l’infrastructure en tant que code et de la gestion des incidents.

Votre travail consistera notamment à créer et à maintenir des charges de travail basées sur Kubernetes, l’infrastructure AWS, des services s’appuyant sur MongoDB, des plateformes d’observabilité telles que Dynatrace, l’automatisation du cloud, des solutions de reprise après sinistre et des processus opérationnels sécurisés permettant aux équipes d’ingénierie de livrer des logiciels de manière fiable et efficace.

Vous rendrez compte au responsable du développement logiciel au sein d’une équipe à distance (équipe d’ingénierie distribuée).

Responsabilités

  • Collaborer avec les équipes Infrastructure et Systèmes pour concevoir et mettre en œuvre des solutions innovantes qui améliorent la vitesse de développement, la résilience de l’infrastructure, la sécurité et la disponibilité

  • Établir, affiner et faciliter le respect des objectifs SLO / SLI de l’équipe

  • Piloter les processus, notamment les revues de services, les exercices d’alerte, les tests de chaos, la réponse aux incidents et les analyses rétrospectives d’incidents

  • Collaborer avec des partenaires pour comprendre les exigences et les cas d’utilisation, et élaborer une stratégie cohérente

  • Développer des scripts et des outils pour exécuter le déploiement et la configuration des mises à jour de services

  • Participer à des discussions techniques approfondies qui donnent naissance à des solutions robustes et performantes

  • Coordonner et réaliser des mises à niveau majeures sans aucun temps d’arrêt

  • Maintenir les systèmes à jour pour garantir la conformité en matière de sécurité

  • Dépanner des problèmes techniques complexes

  • Résoudre les problèmes de performances et de stabilité en temps réel et prévenir leur réapparition

Qualifications Minimales

  • Au moins 5 ans d’expérience en production au sein d’une infrastructure cloud à grande échelle (AWS de préférence)

  • Au moins 5 ans d’expérience en génie logiciel, dont au moins deux ans en tant que développeur SRE

  • Capacité à suivre et hiérarchiser plusieurs tâches simultanées

  • Excellentes compétences en résolution de problèmes

  • Capacité à travailler de manière autonome

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $107,000 and $157,300. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
