We are seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer based in the US/Canada to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating with development teams, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and implementing best-in-class DevOps practices. The position requires travel to Fresno, CA for on-site collaboration, as needed.
Note : Location: Must be based in the US/ Canada and able to travel to Fresno, CA as needed.. Travel: 2-3 trips over the next few months, up to a week at a time.
About You- Experience: Senior with 7+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with a proven track record in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure in AWS or Azure,
- Version Control: Extensive experience using GitHub/BitBucket for source control and development workflows.
- CI/CD: Expertise in CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, and Jenkins.
- Version Control & Tagging: Implement version tagging and automated version control strategies.
- Artifact Management: Manage build artifacts, version metadata, and package delivery.
- Automation: Automate build environment setup and facilitate version-tagged build artifact generation.
- Release & Storage Strategies: Establish artifact storage and release versioning strategies (e.g., tagging, changelogs, semantic versioning).
- Documentation: Document build and deployment processes in Confluence.
- Scripting: Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automation and tooling.
- Cloud & Infrastructure, Iac, e.g. AWS, Azure, terraform, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to tackle complex issues and think strategically.
- Adaptability to learn new tools and methodologies in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
- Collaboration and teamwork skills for working smoothly with development, operations, and IT teams.
- Attention to detail to ensure system stability and high-quality deliverables by identifying potential issues early.
- Independent Work and Ownership: Manage multiple tasks with minimal direction, continually improving processes. Mentor others inside Modus and our clients team.
- PowerBuilder Modernization: Prior experience modernizing PowerBuilder-based applications or working with Oracle-backed systems.
- IBM Rational Synergy: Experience with IBM Rational Synergy.
- GitHub certification.
- AWS/Azure certification.
- Mentoring and coaching both clients and Modus teammates from the comfort of home.
- Deep diving into customer needs and translating them into actionable requirements.
