What we’re looking for

Our Email Marketing team is responsible for creating and driving email programs that guide customers through their lifecycle, from their first interaction to becoming loyal advocates. We are a passionate and data-driven team, focused on delivering exceptional experiences that showcase the value of SurveyMonkey and delight customers.

We are looking for a strategic and customer-obsessed Senior Email Marketing Specialist to own and elevate our email programs, focused on customer onboarding, product adoption and engagement. This person will be a hands-on leader, ready to dive in and re-imagine our existing email initiatives. What you’ll be working on

  • Own the strategy, execution, and optimization of email marketing campaigns across the customer onboarding, product adoption, and engagement lifecycle stages.
  • Up-level existing campaigns and create brand new ones to take full advantage of our marketing tech stack as it evolves.
  • Develop intelligent, multi-channel customer journeys, translating data into personalized experiences that drive user activation, maturity, and long-term retention.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including other Marketing functions, Product, Data Engineering, and Desig,n to drive cohesive and compelling customer communications.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, identify key insights, and report on core metrics, translating data into actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Manage the end-to-end production of our monthly customer newsletter, from content curation to performance tracking and optimization.

We’d love to hear from people with

  • 5+ years of experience in email marketing, with a proven track record of success and hands-on execution experience in one or more major ESPs (e.g., Marketo, Braze, HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable).
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling sophisticated, automated email marketing programs and journeys that have demonstrably impacted customer engagement, retention, and growth.
  • A deep understanding of email marketing best practices, including CAN-SPAM, deliverability, A/B testing, user journeys, and dynamic content.
  • A history of effective cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to influence partners and work effectively across multiple teams to achieve shared goals.
  • A proactive, "go-getter" mentality with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive complex projects from concept to completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to think critically, see the big picture, and translate business objectives into high-impact marketing strategies.
  • Prior experience with an ESP migration is preferred.

SurveyMonkey believes in-person collaboration is valuable for building relationships, fostering community, and enhancing our speed and execution in problem-solving and decision-making. As such, you will be required to work from a SurveyMonkey office up to 1 day per week.
