This Senior Financial Analyst role will be supporting the Cigna Canada and all its subsidiaries’ companies in Canada. This role will be providing value-added, in-depth financial analytics for Management and supporting finance functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare and report on financial performance for senior management and Board’s review.

  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for financial review discussions.

  • Data mining to assist in preparing a comprehensive financial overview.

  • Provide value-added financial analysis and financial result dashboards.

  • Prepare Regulatory Capital and Investment Analysis.

  • Research, monitor and analyze all regulatory, accounting and tax standards.

  • Research and report on industry data analysis to management.

  • Assist with maintaining supplementary lead schedules.

  • Assist with the preparation of plan and forecast.

  • Assist in the facilitation of audits with external auditors.

  • Assist in maintenance of accounting policies and procedure documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirement and internal policies.

  • Work with key stakeholders across the organization (e.g. Pricing, Underwriting, Reserving and Claims).

  • Assist in finance projects and initiatives as needed.

  • Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and a recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) is a must.

  • Proficiency in report writing and presenting findings (e.g. PowerPoint Presentation).

  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical and financial information.

  • 3+ years of progressive work experience in an analytical or auditing function.

  • Experience in the financial services industry, preferably within the insurance industry.
