What you’ll do

Reporting to the Manager, Accounting – Financial Services, the Senior Financial Analyst, Loyalty, provides insights into new projects, contracts, and financial results. This key role requires experience in building relationships with stakeholders to ensure proper accounting for CTC’s loyalty program and partnership initiatives. Responsibilities include analyzing and validating data output, investigating discrepancies, ensuring accurate reporting, and adhering to accounting standards and policies. Your technical expertise, analytical skills, effective communication, collaboration and prioritization of multiple deadlines are critical for success.

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for new loyalty initiatives.

  • Update and improve reporting processes while overseeing and supporting the team execution.

  • Maintain and update various financial models supporting loyalty, ensuring reasonability and completeness.

  • Review and/or prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting and review process.

  • Analyze significant variances, key metrics, and business trends, present findings to management.

  • Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all monthly and quarterly deliverables.

  • Research and lead discussions on evolving business and accounting issues in accordance with IFRS.

  • Identify and execute improvements and efficiencies.

  • Monitor and execute key controls.

  • Effectively manage communications and relationships with business partners, accounting, FP&A, tax, and auditors.

  • Participate in or lead a variety of ad hoc projects as assigned by the Manager.

  • Provide supervision and coaching to other team members within the department.

What you bring:

  • University Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting. CPA designation is required.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a medium/large company accounting department or accounting firm.

  • IFRS expertise and experience with researching and developing accounting position documents is an asset.

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environment.

  • Natural curiosity to understand the reason behind transactions.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships.

  • Ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Advanced PC skills including Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint). Excel advanced

  • Familiarity with internal and external audit processes.

  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting system and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is an asset.
