What you will do

  • Lead period close financial reporting process, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with corporate finance policy, US GAAP and SOX in all activities

  • Prepare robust financial statement analysis and fulfill reporting requirements, including obtaining support schedules from cross-functional teams to record monthly activities pertaining to commissions, meetings, rebates, and other accruals as needed.  

  • Record monthly Communication (Endoscopy) project revenue, while ensuring compliance with Revenue Recognition standards. Validate monthly activity through regular meetings with project teams & customer service.

  • Key member on acquisition integration projects and legal entity amalgamations or restructuring initiatives. Participation in project meetings and building of integration activities and timelines

  • Lead continuous improvement processes, developing Excel templates / financial models, and collaborating with diverse teams on projects and/or cross functional initiatives

  • Coach, advise and mentor junior team members, including review of their month-end reconciliations.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager; such as ad-hoc analysis and information requests from business unit leaders

What you need

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Experience in Excel and PowerBI

Preferred:         

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA/CMA/CGA)  

  • Experience with Oracle ERP and Hyperion Financials             

This is a hybrid role based out of our Waterdown, ON office. This team is expected in the office on Wednesdays and has the flexibility to work from home the other days.
