Highlights of the Job

A Senior FIPS 140 Evaluator will lead projects in the review, consultation, and assessment of products against FIPS 140.  Projects will involve a wide variety of technologies including both hardware and software. Evaluators must have a solid grounding of cryptographic algorithms, digital signatures, cryptographic hashing, and random number generators. They must be able to discern the cryptographic boundary for a variety of software, hardware, and hybrid modules.

As a Senior FIPS 140 Evaluator, the candidate is expected to lead all aspects of FIPS 140 validation projects and interface with customers to provide them with sound technical consulting and support during the validation process.

Requirements

  • 3 years minimum of experience performing successful FIPS 140 validations
  • University degree in a technical field
  • A proven ability to work well in a team
  • Creative and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

The FIPS 140 team is in Ottawa, ON however this role could be based in another Lightship Security office (Vancouver, BC or Baltimore, MD), or remote. A valid passport and eligibility to travel to/from and between USA and Canada is a requirement of this position. Full background and criminal record check will be required.
