What you will do

Lighthouse is expanding and is looking for a Senior Hospitality Research Manager to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will be located in Denver, CO and be able to work a hybrid schedule. The Senior Hospitality Research Manager will work closely with the Director of Hospitality Research to grow and build out the research function within Lighthouse.  Projects will include creating engaging, thought provoking, and analytically-driven articles, blog posts, webinars, and internal and external presentations, as well as supporting Lighthouse’s various verticals with hospitality analytics and research needs.  Ultimately, the Research team is tasked with creatively utilizing analytics and Lighthouse’s vast hospitality data set to drive users and viewership to Lighthouse’s website.  The ideal candidate has experience in hospitality analytics and public speaking and can effectively communicate research findings through written research reports, ebooks, and industry presentations. This global role balances quantitative research, highly creative and inventive thinking, and enthusiasm for the dynamic hospitality industry.

Where you will have impact

  • Conduct in-depth research on the global hotel and short-term rental industries, identifying trends, opportunities, and challenges
  • Present research findings at industry conferences, customer events, webinars, and internal sessions, effectively communicating complex data in an understandable manner
  • Craft detailed and insightful industry research reports to guide strategic decision-making for Lighthouse’s customers, partners, and the broader hospitality sector
  • Develop compelling hospitality data-driven video content to be posted and shared on various social media platforms 
  • Formulate insightful social media posts, microblogs and other content to generate engagement and resonate with target audiences 
  • Collaborate with internal content, digital, and event marketing teams to apply research findings to various marketing activities and produce data-driven thought leadership content
  • Work with Data Science team to develop analytic dashboards using Tableau and Looker data visualization platforms
  • Continuously build and develop the research function within Lighthouse, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and maintain a strong network within the hospitality sector

Who you are

  • 7+ years of total work experience
  • 5+ years of research and/or hospitality industry analyst experience
  • Expertise in hospitality data analytics and quantitative research is required
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • A passion for the hospitality sector with a solid understanding of the global hotel and short-term rental industries
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively
  • Proven experience in report writing and presenting research findings
  • Experience in managing cross-functional projects
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience working with Looker, Tableau and/or SQL would be helpful but is not a requirement 
  • A degree in Economics, Finance, Hospitality Administration, or Mathematics/ Statistics
  • Consulting, investment banking, hotel development, or macroeconomic analysis experience
  • Ability to travel up to 5% - 10% of the year for conferences and meetings

In addition to benefits and other Lighthouse total rewards, the annual base salary for this role is $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 USD. We benchmark our salary ranges for new hires in relation to the role, level, and role location; however, we consider a multitude of factors, to include relevant experience, skills, and education/training, to determine compensation within the identified range.
