We are currently seeking a Sr. Human Resources to join our team!

Position Summary:

Serves as a business partner, responsible for leading a regional Human Resources function delivering Human Resource services to multiple Specialty Company locations in support of strategic vision, business objectives and mission.  Leads the day to day regional Human Resource operations for multiple Specialty Company locations in order to develop and maintain a culturally aligned and highly engaged workforce. Delivers best practices in employee relations, compensation, training and development, benefits, recruitment, succession planning and leadership development along with building other effective tools needed by leadership.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Implements Human Resource initiatives in support of strategic and financial goals, including the development and implementation of objectives, policies, programs for Specialty Companies.   

  • Manages annual capital and operational expenses.  Monitors and controls budget, analyzing variances.

  • Leads Human Resources teams in implementing and aligning GFS HR strategies and practices, policies and systems.

  • Manages the human resources department staff, including interviewing, hiring, training and retention of staff.  Conducts performance monitoring, initiates follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with senior leadership when appropriate.  Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and serves as a resource.

  • Ensures local Specialty Company HR goals and initiatives align with Company goals and long range plans.

  • Supports and oversees human resources strategies that may include sourcing, talent acquisition and selection, learning and development, employee benefits, compensation, compliance, employee database maintenance, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, and absence management.  

  • Understands business strategies, evaluates and analyzes key performance data and collaborates as a business partner to develop solutions. 

  • Serves as a consultant regarding HR programs, initiatives, policies, and employment law.  Negotiates and resolves sensitive and or controversial issues.  

  • Ensures that culture and climate are addressed in the strategic plan and that strategy discussion and decisions include how changes will impact the company culture and values.

  • Partners with Leadership teams throughout the organization to provide strategic support to initiatives within other departments.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

  • Management of Personnel Resources — Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.

  • Social Perceptiveness — Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.

  • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

  • Negotiation — Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.

  • Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Deductive Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

  • Inductive Reasoning — The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).

  • Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

  • Law and Government — Knowledge of applicable employment laws and government regulations

Equipment / Tools / Technology:

  • Laptop computer & telephone/voicemail

  • Networked printer/copier/facsimile machine

  • Google Apps (Chrome, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Sites, Groups, etc.)

  • Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email, and HRIS software.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor degree in Human Resources, business, or related.

Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification - preferred

 

Minimum Years of Experience:

Five or more years of human resources experience with prior leadership or management experience required or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
