About This Role
As the Senior Manager of the Complex Accounting team, you will play a strategic role within the finance organization. You will act as an expert for management and business units on the accounting implications of unusual and complex transactions and ensure compliance with IFRS. You will be responsible to manage and supervise the work of the Complex Accounting team and will report to the Assistant Corporate Controller.
Are you ready to:
- Assess the accounting implications of unusual and complex transactions, and prepare related documentation and memos;
- Be a strategic business partner and advisor on accounting related issues to management and different finance teams, including: business units, merger and acquisition, tax, treasury, consolidation and financial reporting;
- Lead the team of professional accountants in Complex Accounting, and review accounting analyses and memos prepared by other team members;
- Plan and manage the execution of accounting related projects, including: business acquisitions (purchase price allocation) and the adoption of new accounting standards;
- Prepare and facilitate training sessions for the finance team;
- Support the financial reporting team in the preparation of external consolidated financial reporting for unusual and complex issues.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Professional accounting designation mandatory (CPA);
- Minimum of 5 years of similar experience, or at a large accounting firm;
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and excellent ability to interpret accounting standards and their practical application;
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and adapt quickly to change;
- Self-starter, demonstrate high level of initiative and autonomy;
- Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work;
- Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
