In this role, you will oversee all communications and public and government affairs activities for Mondelez Canada and Give & Go. You are a business adviser who manages across internal and/or external advocacy and media relations, crisis and issues communications using integrated communications to promote and protect Mondelēz's International reputation.
How you will contribute
In this role, you will be responsible for developing policy positions specific to Business Unit's impact framework and goals, as well as serving as a key member of the team in driving the company's CGA agenda, working closely with others within the North America and Global CGA team. You will assess business risks and opportunities to develop strategies that align public policy initiatives with and business goals. You may also plan, execute, and integrate a range of communications activities in coordination with other teams and stakeholders.

Communications
Deliver a reputation-building communications program working in partnership with the Manager of Communication and Government Affairs and the leadership team where required. You will use various forms of media and communications tactics and be responsible for communicating key messages to various audiences, external and internal. Responsibilities also include:
- Develop and maintain third-party relationships (i.e. trade associations, charities, etc.).
- Contribute to weekly/monthly reports on CGA activities for NA and globally
- Support and create corporate presentation materials
- Support in press office activities, managing local media inquiries as required

Qualifications:
- At least 7 years work experience in government affairs, government or trade associations with a strong understanding of the legislative processes (required)
- Knowledge and familiarity with the issues facing the consumer-packaged goods industry (considered an asset)
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent project management skills
- Have excellent grasp of current events, news, social media trends
- Ability to seek out different perspectives and work collaboratively
- Some travel within Canada will be required
- Some evenings and weekends will be required
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
Job specific requirements:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key government officials, government staff, and external stakeholders at the federal, provincial and municipal levels.
- Lobby on critical issues to influence government policy to achieve Mondelez Canada objectives.
- Build and increase relationships with external trade associations, industry coalitions and SMEs to help influence and supplement direct advocacy efforts.
- Ability to monitor, review, analyze and summarize legislative and regulatory initiatives to determine impact on Mondelez Canada and our brand portfolio.
- Research issues, draft policy position papers and provide updates to senior management.
- Raise the profile of the company with government officials through outreach, event organization, education, and engagement.
- Schedule, prepare materials for, and arrange logistics of facility tours and other events.
- Support and engage in CGA-related and special assignments.
