Senior Manager, Talent Development

The Senior Manager of Talent Development will lead Alma’s learning and development initiatives, playing a vital role in cultivating a culture of growth, inclusion, and high performance. This role focuses on designing, delivering, and managing learning programs and tools that enhance employee skills, leadership capabilities, and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in instructional design, facilitation, project management, and training program administration, with a passion for developing talent in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning Program Design & Delivery: Design, develop and implement comprehensive learning and development programs, both virtual and in-person, aligned with Alma’s strategic goals and competencies, focused on Management and Leadership
  • Organizational Psychology: Provide thought leadership on key manager and leadership concepts rooted in organizational psychology and current research in the field
  • Instructional Design: Leverage adult learning principles, create innovative, evidence-based learning interventions, including e-learning modules, facilitator guides, and participant activities and guidebooks
  • Learning Management System (LMS) Administration: Oversee the administration and optimization of the LMS, ensuring content is current, organized, and user-friendly. Track and analyze learning data to measure program effectiveness and recommend improvements
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage external vendors, contractors, and consultants to deliver specialized training programs and resources
  • Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align training programs with organizational priorities, ensuring timely delivery and ROI
  • Facilitation: Serve as a lead facilitator for leadership development programs, team-building workshops, and other talent development initiatives, foster interactive and inclusive learning experiences
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in talent development and instructional design

Who you are:

  • You have 7+ years of experience in talent development, training, or learning and development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role and 2 years of experience directly managing a team.
  • You have strong expertise in instructional design, including e-learning tools and methodologies.
  • You have proven experience facilitating workshops and training sessions for all levels of an organization.
  • You are proficienct in LMS administration and have familiarity with learning technologies.
  • You have exceptional project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • You have experience managing vendors, contractors, and budgets.
  • You have strong organizational and event planning skills.
  • You have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • You have knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in learning and development.
  • You are comfortable facilitating live trainings and attending offsites within the US (~15% of the year).
  • You are passionate about mental health and have a commitment to Alma’s mission.

Salary Band: $135,000 - $165,000
