ABOUT THIS ROLE

Our Product Managers stand at the leading edge of this disruption and are responsible for guiding new products at Apex. 

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager (Compliance & Regulatory Reporting) to oversee key compliance and regulatory technology initiatives. This role entails broad cross-functional collaboration and focuses on enhancing our RegTech offerings by integrating advanced data matching and reporting technologies, optimizing escheatment and levy processing, and driving innovation in compliance through the enhancement of our regulatory reporting systems. The goal is to evolve our suite of APIs into a robust SaaS solution, ensuring compliance with multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements while leveraging our technological capabilities to improve operational efficiency and risk management.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategy, vision, and roadmap for our regulatory and financial reporting products, focusing on superior reliability and precision to effectively support millions of client accounts and ensure stringent regulatory compliance. 

  • Provide insights and actionable recommendations based on analysis and alignment with business goals. 

  • Work with customers and senior business leaders to identify and solve product gaps. 

  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and document detailed product requirements and lead products from design to launch. 

  • Author and maintain key product documentation such as Annual Operating Plans, Product Charters, PR-FAQs, Narratives, and Specifications. 

  • Be accountable for the functional and financial success of RegTech products. 

 

Education and/or Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or other related field (or equivalent work experience) required; Master’s degree in business, finance, or technology preferred. 

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Product-adjacent roles, ideally with exposure to compliance and regulatory functions in the financial services industry; however, candidates with strong product management experience seeking to expand their expertise into regulatory domains are also encouraged to apply.

  • Experience researching, defining, and documenting market and product requirements. 

  • Solid track record managing the full lifecycle of product development, preferably within a SaaS or cloud-based environment. 

Required/Skills Abilities

  • Technical fluency with the ability to effectively communicate with engineering teams, understand modern technology concepts, and make informed product design decisions alongside technical staff.  

  • Experience/background in financial markets or a strong interest in learning the securities industry.  

  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication is a must.  

  • Strong analytical capabilities and comfort with BI tools, Excel, SQL, and potentially more advanced data analysis tools like Python or R. 

  • A deep understanding of Agile methodologies and a strong preference for incremental and iterative product delivery. 

  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to challenge norms and influence stakeholders without direct authority. 

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a hybrid, office environment. 

  • Requires occasional travel (15%+ time) to meet with distributed teams and stakeholders in various locations.

Salary Range

$134,400-$168,000

The annual base salary range for this position is noted above. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
