An overview of this role

As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll own the strategy, roadmap, and adoption of GitLab Dedicated (Commercial), GitLab’s single-tenant SaaS deployment of our Enterprise DevSecOps Platform for highly regulated and security-conscious customers. You’ll define how we evolve Dedicated into a scalable, reliable, and secure platform, balancing customer needs, technical capabilities, and business outcomes while partnering closely with Engineering, Operations, Sales, Finance, and go-to-market teams. You’ll focus on driving enterprise adoption, shaping pricing and packaging, and ensuring the service meets strict security, compliance, and performance expectations, so customers can run GitLab with confidence in their own isolated environments.

Some examples of our projects:

  • Evolving the GitLab Dedicated architecture to improve automation, reusability, and extensibility across tenants
  • Refining pricing and packaging for Dedicated based on customer value, usage patterns, and market feedback
What you’ll do
  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for GitLab Dedicated (Commercial), focusing on delivering customer results and growing the platform.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to build an automated, reusable, and extensible single-tenant SaaS foundation that is reliable, secure, and performant at scale.
  • Balance feature development with operational excellence and platform stability when prioritizing the roadmap.
  • Partner with Sales, Professional Services, Support, Finance, and other go-to-market teams to drive adoption, forecast outcomes, and scale GitLab Dedicated across enterprise customer segments.
  • Refine pricing and packaging for GitLab Dedicated based on customer value, market dynamics, and business performance.
  • Engage directly with enterprise customers, especially in highly regulated industries, to understand requirements, address security and compliance needs, and translate feedback into actionable product iterations.
  • Define clear success metrics, analyze product and business data, and use insights to validate decisions and measure impact.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to create and maintain positioning, messaging, and enablement materials that help customer-facing teams articulate the value and differentiation of GitLab Dedicated.
What you’ll bring
  • Product management experience building and shipping successful SaaS products, from discovery and roadmap definition through launch and iteration.
  • Practical understanding of running a SaaS service at scale, including operations, reliability, scalability, and tradeoffs between new features and stability.
  • Ability to work effectively across distributed, cross-functional, multi-time-zone teams (engineering, finance, sales, marketing, support, professional services) and through ambiguity.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex, often technical, customer and regulatory requirements into clear product plans and iterations.
  • Experience engaging directly with enterprise customers in highly regulated industries, including understanding of security, compliance, and data protection needs.
  • Comfortable using data and analytics to inform decisions, define success metrics, and measure the impact of product changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical depth with business acumen, including experience with pricing, packaging, and business case development.
  • Openness to candidates from diverse backgrounds, including those with adjacent experience in DevOps, CI/CD, developer tools, cloud infrastructure, or compliance who can demonstrate transferable skills.
About the team

As part of the GitLab Dedicated team, you’ll work with product managers, engineers, operations specialists, and go-to-market partners who are focused on delivering secure, reliable, single-tenant SaaS instances of GitLab for enterprise customers in regulated industries. The team owns the GitLab Dedicated (Commercial) service within the broader GitLab platform, and collaborates asynchronously across time zones, relying on written communication and clear documentation to stay aligned. You’ll join a group that is scaling Dedicated in a sustainable way while solving the challenges of operating enterprise-grade, single-tenant DevSecOps at scale, including security, compliance, and performance expectations.
