The Senior Project Manager - Highways will provide senior level technical direction, mentoring, and input to junior and intermediate staff, contribute to management initiatives, and serve as a key contact with clients.  Experience in a PM role with MTO is required, in addition to liaising with regulatory agencies, networking with other professionals and new business development.

Location – Toronto, ON. Can consider elsewhere in ON if the candidate is willing to do significant travel to Central ON.

Your role within the team:

  • Manage Highway Design projects in Ontario, leading a team of engineers, designers, other disciplines and consultants as required on a project basis to meet MTO requirements
  • Maintain project budgets, schedules, risk registers and communications with project team, client staff and project stakeholders
  • Lead technical proposals for highway design pursuits and similar transportation engineering work
  • Ensure all deliverables meet client requirements and all applicable standards, codes and regulations
  • Maintain required quality system standards and procedures, and embrace and actively support behaviour-based workplace health and safety policies

The ideal candidate:

  • Civil Engineering degree and licensed as a P.Eng. in Ontario
  • Possess expert level highway engineering knowledge and skills recognized by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario, sufficient for approval in MTO RAQS
  • Minimum 10 years experience in provincial highway design multidisciplinary projects
  • Minimum 3 years experience in multidisciplinary highway design projects being recognized as Project Manager by MTO
  • Proven expertise with AutoCAD, OpenRoads, and other relevant industry-standard tools
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
