Do you love crafting joyful, seamless player experiences? We're looking for a (Senior) QA Engineer with a passion to work on all parts of QA and to join our wonderful Beacon Development team in Espoo, Finland. You'll play a crucial, central role in ensuring the quality of our core Beacon services—the tools and platforms that keep all of Rovio's games running smoothly and beautifully. Working closely with our Lead QA Engineer and Team Manager, you'll be the ultimate advocate for quality, making sure every game team gets the reliable tools they need to bring joy to millions of players globally. Last but not least, you get to have an impact on the QA strategy and to develop the overall quality culture.
You will have impact and fun at work by:
- Collaborating closely with the development team to efficiently test all aspects of technical quality for our service projects.
- Taking ownership of the entire quality process, from creating and maintaining clear test plans and test cases to managing comprehensive bug reports.
- Driving our testing strategy by evaluating new processes, tools, and best practices to ensure our team is always working together in the most effective and supportive way.
- Sharing an accurate, up-to-date picture of product quality with the development teams and product managers, helping everyone understand where we are.
- Showing independence, taking initiative, and openly communicating and helping others across different teams and groups. Offering guidance and assistance especially to developers in all things QA to foster a culture of quality.
- Focusing your expertise on guaranteeing the high quality of Rovio's essential Beacon services and the tools all our game teams depend on.
Experience and skills we are looking for:
- You have approximately 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer and preferably hold a BSc/MSc in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- You understand and have extensive experience in a broad range of testing types, including functional, localization, user experience, compliance, and performance.
- You feel confident in broad test management, including planning, scoping, monitoring, estimation & prioritization, and using test metrics/dashboards to share clear information.
- You have practical experience with system integration and API testing, understanding how to connect and test different services seamlessly.
- You're experienced in using advanced tools like Jira and modern test management systems to keep all our quality processes clear and uncomplicated.
- You are a committed team player with great communication skills and a passion for working in all parts of software development QA, from planning to documentation.
It would be nice if you also have the following skills:
- Experience in test automation for web UI and mobile application. Familiarity with test frameworks such as Playwright, Appium, or Cypress.
- An understanding of mobile game testing and/or genuine interest in games and how they bring joy to players.
