As a Senior QA, you are responsible for completing tasks while consistently meeting or exceeding the quality and quantity standards set out by the QA Manager, while inspiring others to do the same.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:Identify and record software defects.
Regress and verify bug fixes.
Concise and detailed data entry.
Create and complete a variety of quality test plans and test cases including automation outlines and data collection.
Provide guidance and context for bug prioritization in triage meetings.
Identify and advance QA risks to the QA lead at all stages of development.
Own the testing of large sophisticated features and ensuring the product is stable and free of defects before going to market.
Give to the testing strategies and highlighting potential issues before they occur.
Communicate team needs, like areas of the title that are under or over tested, a platform not getting enough or ineffective tools and systems.
Troubleshoot a collection of issues without supervision, including previously unknown issues.
Understand the basic reporting needs of the team and take ownership of reports as requested.
Work closely with other departments to ensure features are implemented accurately.
Handle daily tasks of the QA Department for short periods as needed by the QA Lead.
Providing training and mentoring to Junior members of the team, sharing knowledge, and helping troubleshoot their software and hardware to unblock workflow issues.
Providing a high level of support to the dev team in assigned areas and beyond
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Typically requires a minimum of 3 - 5+ years of related experience
Optimally shipped multiple titles while owning sophisticated features.
Knowledge and understanding of JIRA workflows for both tasks and bugs.
Experience testing applications on multiple platforms including (but not restricted to) PC, Mac, Mobile, Console, VR/AR, Web Based applications, Simulators, etc.
Solid understanding of basic and sophisticated QA testing tools.
Familiarity with 1st party requirements and guidelines.
Skilled at communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Reliable, productive, flexible, and takes initiative.
Location/Relocation Requirements:
Position based in Nova Scotia
Willingness to relocate to Nova Scotia is helpful
